EQ - Wrongly named

Spiked steel bracers & bracers of defense.

Spiked steel bracers

This may not be relevant, but there are some weapons of which their damage type is a bit off.

"Flaming" Axe from Minoma does Chopping damage.

Firebrand spear in Valmiran (if it's still around) doesn't do fire damage either.

read the description of the "flaming" axe... there is a reason its in quotes.

firebrand spear- just because it was branded with fire doesn't mean its made of fire.

Well technically I think a bracer is worn on the arms. What do you wear on your wrist? A bracelet or one of those retarded sweatbands. Perhaps we should rename titanium bracers to titanium bracelets?

poison barbed gauntlets go on your arms lol... that was a shocker.

Those look to cover the hands, wrists, and a good deal of the forearms as well...

This is done so that fire giants will still get a bonus for using the weapons, despite them still doing physical damage. What a weapon is made out of and what damage noun it uses are two (often intentionally) different things.

Yea..... That is what Gauntlets do.......

But sleeves would mean the other 70% of your arm.....

Those look to cover the hands, wrists, and a good deal of the forearms as well... If poison barbed gauntlets were indeed similar to this picture, then you would wear them primarily on your hands. The fact that you can wear these gauntlets (on your arms, no less) and then have another pair of gauntlets on makes little to no sense.

So I stick with my original claim. They are worn on the arms, lets change the name accordingly.

I agree.

Now I just need to figure if cloaks are around the neck or about the body...

I know of a weapon or two like that' date=' and it might be so someone has to actually fight the mob instead of dirt;disarm;get 1.;flee.[/quote']

To what end? Is it our primary goal to entice people into spending hours on end fighting mobs? Does it enhance the gameplay to kill a mob all the way instead of blinding and disarming it? Does it really grant you that much more satisfaction in your use of the weapon?

If I wanted to spend all day carrying rocks up hills, digging holes, placing the rock in the hole, and carrying the dirt back down the hill, I'd play WoW. Or Runescape.

I agree with Evangelion absolutely. Let's look at this realistically. Killing a mob for EQ is a chore. It requires little actual strategy and once you get down what you need to do you just wish it were over ASAP. I would love it if all the EQ in the game were purchasable at some shop.

How about the Cloak of Mist? A cloak as a boat worn around the neck!?

Major/Minor Globe - worn around the body?

Nor the smoking flail. And boy do I wish those flames on a fire's bash returned.

me too. I loved that.

Your flames OBliterate fuktbastard!

I dunno, to make people work for better equipment? Why put the really good Gear equipment at the end? For funsies? I'm not really the person to ask.

Despite what some may think, I can name a few monsters that you do have to use specific strategies to overcome. To new players, this is exciting, obviously not so much from someone who has done so 20+ times. I think that we should slightly change the rare status levels to include a third, titled Artifact.

Artifacts would only allow one or two in the lands, which would be the same as Unique. The only reason I recommend their being two , is to allow for those items that any align can use, more than one person can have one to balance it out. However, I think it should be coded to limit it to one person of that align can wield it, allowing for opposite or neutral align to obtain one. I also think that characters should be limited to possessing a certain number of artifacts, maybe 2-3.

Unique would then have 3-4 but be of slightly less power items. Also slightly restructuring the flow of rares. This will help keep people from obtaining god suits for people to complain of. I am not sure if this would fit in with the new equipment changes coming, but I think it might be interesting to see.

Popping in folks, howdy! I have always kinda of liked an idea that goes something like this -

-For every really great weapons/armor out there(primarily Uniques), there should be one or two for each individual alignment. Maybe some slight tweaking on what is rare and what is unique. Rares can stay roughly the same as recently.

  • Example - Ancient Sceptre - Create 3 identical maces, one of each alignment, different names/locations. The weapons would each grant small effects in combat based on align. Goodie armor/weaps could cure light, armor, etc. Evil armor/weaps would cause light, etc.

  • Couple this with a limit only on uniques. Say 2-3 per character.

  • This would stop a lot of the whining about alignment based equipment. Make equipment more fun to play around with based on the effects granted by the uniques that you are allowed to carry. Eliminate any one person from fully dressing in a suit of full uniques, making them nearly impossible to defeat for an average player. It would also make folks have to make careful choices on their equipment due to abilities and restrictions of the great unique pieces.

-Sorry for derailing your thread, the pop-in/thread reminded me of this one idea.

I had recently thought that EVERYTHING should have a balanced opposite. LIke that s**** antigood sword in gear, both of them . And neutrals get **** for + spell level.

Technically, in the game, there is only one sword in gear.
