An idea for rangers

Hello everyone,

I was thinking, why are ranger staffs not permanent? Other classes get permanent weapons they can make. Dk's get there malforms and I believe that crusaders can use starstone to make there own. So why not make ranger staffs permanent. Thoughts and suggestions please.

Thanks,

Ilanthas

Ranger staffs do not equal malforms or sader blades. They are meant to be a quick replacement weapon to help reequip. Rangers are one of the easiest classes to reequip with, not just because they can make a quick nice staff, but because of thier pets. An archery ranger (make own bow + arrows + staff + pets) can be ready to reequip themselves before unghosting far better than any other melee/hybrid except possible a DK with full malforms. Even then I think the ranger would reequip faster since they have their own mount and can herb and camp, and have camo to keep them relativly safe from getting ganked while reequiping. Considering how cheap and easy it is to make a ranger staff, there is no need nor reason for them to be permanent.

Malforms and Crusader weapons are far more intricate than a rangers staff. They take literally RL hours to complete. The rangers staff is created and in your hand in mere seconds. The rangers staff at pinn has incredible hit/dam and a very nice average. Also, Malforms and crusader weapons are not made from a stick of wood just laying there, the DK/Sader must start with a base weapon whose nature was already permanent.

Ranger staffs give the biggest bonuses of any weapon in regards to hit/dam. To make it permanent would negatie it's balancing factor.

You say it's easy to make one, but have you ever really tried? I did this long before I played FL, from an oak sapling. Took a long goddam time I'll tell you, and when it broke (I tried to use it as a bow), I just didn't have the heart to make another one.

don't use green wood . Also to use it as a bow you need to give it cuve, then reinforce it with more wood. To give it curve you need to basically slide it into a PVC pipe, and get alot of steam to go through it over the course of a few hours. Then pull the piece of wood out, and bend it to the shape you like, then let it dry.

I think that is how the Native Americans did it. Good ole' PVC.

yea dude, it is a shame they have mined all of it up. There is so little PVC left in the world now because of all the mining that has gone on.

What little is left keeps getting chewed on by rodents.

We have resorted to placing a layer of pepper spray between the jacket and shield on all mainline cables just to stop the nation wide problem. Seriously.

Yeah, should surely not be permanent...however, I wish ranger as well as healer would make no-disarm staffs like druid...I know as a werebeast ranger...you can kinda get around that...but sheesh...every melee class you face...even certain mage classes...can disarm. Not to mention...alot of mobs as well...but then again, ranger's and healer's are the best re-equiping classes...just annoying when you are trying to re-equip and have people trying to kill you...disarm, dirt...disarm, dirt...flee...flee...flee kinda sucks but yeah...can you tell...I'm just ranting...LOL

if ranger staff was no disarm noone would ever use a different weapon espesciall since it is made on command with no cooldown timer,

why not just make 2 or 3 and set a macro to grab another one when its disarmed? i'd say a trigger but i hate triggers this game is too "case by case" to have a permanent trigger.

What if you are blind?

What if you are blind?

Quaff gyvel silly

flee?

Use nodisarm burnproof weapons instead of relying on your reequiping gimick?
