So I was thinking about how much it sucks that zerks do not really stand a chance against a monk. So i had an idea. Why not have weapon cleave bang up monks hands a little and make them hit/defend a little less. I mean if some giant smashes your hands/weapons with a big @ss axe, your gonna be hurting.

If you can hit someone's hand with a big old axe while they are bobbing/weaving/punching you in the mouth...particularly if said person if considerably quicker than you...then you sir are a man amongst men. It isn't that hard to just use a weapon they don't know and either bodyslam them into oblivion or haymaker them and have your way with them...

Might not be a bad idea at all! And maybe even stop them from using dual parry! Monks can WHOOOOOOP on zerks, like its nothing. Thats the only reason I brought this up.

Try using a Mace and a shield. You should defend good, and his parry goes out the window. That is what i would try.
Then next a cursed magical Polearm.

So I should try my tactics on a monk that cannot lag me, while I'm using a shield and a weapon they do not know? Alright. We all know zerks aren't right, but if I noticed a monk do that horse counter...I'm just gonna run around and wait for him to empower. I am a zerk, so I recover nicely with FH and regen...I could probably pop back every hour to check if stance has dropped or if they decided me backing off was their chance to get offensive to try and pin me down with the bolt/trip tactic. Obviously if they change empower, I'm gonna knock them out of it...and a monk without an empowerment just doesn't sound scary to me. Get a weapon that does the flaming bite/chance to smoke blind...can you say charge meat? We all know no one is gonna be anything but a mino (which makes me charge meat comment all caps) or an ogre (whose vuln isn't being hit in defensive empowerment and will make my attack, uh-oh horse counter, run and wait the tick so I can try again on the next one even more regenalicious). Lateral thinking works for the big bruisers just as well as the pencil-necked geeks, ya dig? For all those giant zerks...do that ogre thing and carry some painkillers if your regen isn't cutting it.
Ok, well I just fought a monk with my berserker. The monk used dragon stance, the monk would dirt me, then disarm my cursed weapon. every time, I was dirting back, fleeing sleeping then getting a weapon back on. Couldn't charge her, Wanted to try doublegrip next since that seems to do pretty solid 1-3 hits with good damage and get hit less than dual wield and almost as good as shield.
And mindflayer, you read my mind, cleaving prayer beads would be nice, so they can't just strangle you when you're finally about to defeat them.
That is the spirit. If something does not works, you think and come up with a new plan. This is what separates a "can't do" from a "will do".
Try a no drop Polearm.
Try a potion of detect magic.
Then stall the fight.
When his stance is about to end, eat pill and Bodyslam.
Perhaps rage and Bodyslam.

Primary wield a 2h cursed axe, dual another axe or mace. You will outdamage them most often(do not be stupid and use weapons they know!!!
)(Also make sure to get decent weapons avg dam wise.(dual 30's/unknown is good) Chase with haymaker. If you chose anger path then feel free to rage, just lay off the chase a bit. If you went the other two paths I would wait till the VERY end to rage(they are hurt-aweful), mainly just getting the hp and dam boost along with the rage to help nail em down. If it goes bad it was already said to dirt/sleep/regenerate.
There are many things a monk can do to trouble a zerk, yes, but this can be overcome every time. Also, I never once used charge(mino zerk or otherwise) to kill a monk as a zerker. Just need to watch the damage flow for a few test rounds and see which strategy above needs to take place.

Play a human berserker. Nothing tops it.

Lots of good advice here, the ides that prayer beads should be cleavable/disarmable has been made before. I have always thought that we should alter headbutt to affect the monks ability to empower and or enter stances. If a cleric cant think to commune, and a mage cant think to cast, why can the monk still focus so clearly?
Until we see numerous logs of monk vs berserker fights in which the monk wins by a clear margin, this kind of change seems silly.
I pwned a level 46 berserker with my pinned monk using horse. Turning attacks that demolish is fun. <3 you
