AC Armor.
-
Parry sockets for Armor.
-
Two handed sockets for Armor.
-
Shield block sockets for Armor.
I think we are lacking suitable defensive equipment for all classes. Mages and Warriors.
I am not talking about HP gear, as we have enough of those.
Or healing equipment, a thing that i personally hate.
I am talking of some bracer's with -30 to AC.
Or pure AC rings. No mana gear.
Talismans of Pure AC, with perhaps some + DEX.
High AC should be a option for the Undecked not a consequence for decking yourself in Top Rares.
Parry sockets gems for Mages. They have only one defence. Let's allow them to improve it. Meeles can get more Hit/Dam and improve their offense. Let's allow mages to slightly counter it.
This should be gems for armor. No one will put a +Parry gem in a socketable staff, when it can be simply disarmed.
Ideally something like:
+3 Parry -3 Damroll non rare socket for L30.
+5 Parry -6 Damroll Rare socket for L50.
Same idea for Two handed. This would aid Clerics and Warriors.
I am talking about Weapons and gem armor sockets.
Ideally something like:
+3 Two handed -3 Damroll -20 Dual wield non rare socket for L30.
+5 Two handed -3 Damroll -50 Dual wield - 50% bash Rare socket for L50.
Polearm + 10 Two handed, Warrior only.
The sockets will make using Two handed weapons attractive while preventing Giant races from using a 2 handed weapon and a dualed weapon.
The Polearm will make warriors use Polearms more often. Because they hardly use them. DK, Paladins and Blademasters are the classes that most use Polearms.
- 50% bash to prevent Ogre Warriors pugilers from Laglocking of Doom with +10 Two handed.
Shield block sockets.
Because using a shield is meant to be a defensive thing.
Lets face it. Apart from Clerics (Shamans/Healers) Paladins some DK's and Some Zerks. No one uses Shields. Everyone uses Two handed weapons or Dual Wields.
+3 Shield block -3 Damroll non rare socket for L30.
+5 Shield block -6 Damroll Rare socket for L50.
Another idea for a shield:
Knight Tower Shield.
No drop Unique shield.
+1 Size -100% Bash -100% Bodyslam
This would allow shield wearers to resist better to lagging attacks.
Remember for having a gem you need a equipment with a socket, and eq with sockets tend to be not very good for Mages/Communers.
Simple Math:
A bracer that gives you +35HP represents around 5% of a Mages HP (700HP).
+5% parry is close to +5% HP (arguably) , but it does not protects you from spells ![]()
