Please please, give us a mid level staff of Sanctuary.

Please please, give us a mid level staff of Sanctuary.

One that is not made of Silver or Iron.

Playing a Drow Necromancer is ridiculously difficult, due to the lack of consistent form of Sanctuary.

You cannot hold the Ankh due to it being silver.

You cannot get the Glimmering, because of pet not entering area.

So you are stuck with Leaves and Vials.

Mages should have easy access to sanctuary and have, at 50 with the exception of Drows.

So can we please please have something for around ranks 40's ?

That works for drow's also. If you are worried with Rangers, make it a Wand like the Ankh.

You can drop it in that mansion in Mirhuv, on a guard of some sort.

There IS a level 30-ish stave of sanc. Sure it only lasts a tick or two, but the thing's common eq so you can have like 30 of them in your backpack at any given point.

You mean the one that can be bought at rank 35 and that has the same Sanctuary level as a Vial ? Level 5.

The ankh has Level 40 Sanctuary. See the difference ?

I thought he meant the red dragon orb...which isn't rare so we can talk about it?

wen I played a necro, every 5-10mins I would just summon mobs with vials kill them, and store them in my backpack....

Red dragon orb is Antigood and the same as a Vial L5 sanctuary.

This are great for the 30 range. But once you get to 40, you are toast with 1-2 hours sanct.

I did that all the time AliG, but ever tried to Zombify a Warlock on Vials ?

There goes five of them.

And during PK you are toast with vials.

Look at warriors at 50 or near. None of them come at me with vials.

It's leaves or Glimmering.

If you really do not want to use any of the other (numerous) sanctuary sources out there, you can always make a friend/pay someone to get you a glimmering staff.

First, your example was that of a drow necromancer, so something being anti-good I didn't think relevant. Second, each of my necromancers have used red dragon orbs up to and including at 50 with positive results... hell, I still use vials regularly on other chars. So the cleric thinks he can keep dispelling me? Fine. Let him do that instead of minister or path, and I'll keep bouncing out for two rounds to resanc and keep whittling away at him not getting hurt.

Zhokril i posted a post in the Prayer forums with all the Santuary forms i have ever found and loged. It should show my case better.

Perhaps i can post here latter the short list without the name, just with the type/charge/level.

Pali, Red dragon last around 1 hour (31-60 seconds).

In that case, my best tatic would be to just locate your santuary to count them, move to a open area like the Forest north of Val and force you to pop a sanctuary and then flee and wait it to go down and slowly grind them away.

But then again you would notice it, and just leave.

By the way an advice for Clerics, if you are fighting a Necromancer and you can dispel him, you can Isolate him. Both are mental.

And if you Isolate a Traven or Drstam, he will start to call you some very ugly names .

PS:

In case i did not make myself Clear (as usual), i wish:

  • A decent midlevel staff/wand of Sanctuary for all mages.

  • That is not Silver, so that Drows can use at 50. (Other mages can keep using Ankh.)

Why don't you make one? Write an area, and put it in.

I hate drows, so I'm happy about the way it is.

Mages should have easy access to sanctuary

Yes, as should Berserkers, Dark Knights and Warriors. I move we grant auto-sanctuary to all classes to promote fairness and balance.

Yes' date=' as should Berserkers, Dark Knights and Warriors. I move we grant auto-sanctuary to all classes to promote fairness and balance.[/quote']

If we are going down that road, I want malform for my rangers too. To promote fairness of course.

(silly reply to a silly comment IMO.)

Which amounts to a draw, not a loss, and which I find perfectly acceptable.

You know Cryp, at 50 a mage can get a 8 x L40 santuary item from the ground.

If this is not indication that mages are intended to have easier access to sanctuary than warrior, then i been playing the wrong mud.

But if i was to blame someone from the lack of decent mid level Sanctuary, i would blame you, as a former Imm.

Please please, give us a mid level staff of Sanctuary.

Can someone tell me why pets cannot enter? If you are a class designed to have pet/s why shouldnt they be allowed to help in all situations?

I would agree...although I would charge admission to each of the pets as well. I mean...gold isn't exactly something most of us end up scrounging for, but it makes it a little more irritating to be that triple traven necro. Not much, but a little.

I believe pets cannot enter mostly because of the way admission works. Wasn't it fixed too?

Yeah, i am relatively postive pets can enter, my ranger has killed the wight with pets as well. Problem is, you risk them getting stuck in the arena with the wight, once you are victorious. Which for a ranger is no big deal.. release all and you have two new pets in 24 hours. For a necro with 3 travens, losing those in the arena.. would suck

A drow necromancer is the "gnome ranger" of necromancy.

I'm laughing at all of you who think that a necro needs three Traverns to get that item. Either ask someone to help you OR make the choice to sacrifice one or two of your zombies to get the item OR go without.

As Pali said, its not that hard ot go without. Not all classes should have easy access to everything just because you think your life should be easy. If you can't do it with the race/class admit you have a lot to learn and do something about learning it. Whinging doesn't count.

L-A

PS - killing the warlock requires 3 vials max as a lvl 50 necro. That's if you have the absolute worst luck in the world and are doing it solo. Mostly, you can login, summon vials, kill the warlock and have a vial or two left over. If you can't you're doing it wrong.
