Ogre Clerics.

The only reason Aulian's chars don't condie within 3 months is because 85% of his char's playtime involves being within foliage.

Ogre Clerics, everyone wants an ogre cleric, hell why not? They let a vampire in Tribunal;) Seriously though test the waters... however I believe in this logic,

Ogres heal really really really fast. You dress them up in the kinds of eq a cleric would normally use at lvl 50 and not only will they heal almost as fast as an ogre zerk but I think they would have more hp with all that equipment aswell. Then you throw in religious combos and all that and yeah these ogre clerics are going to be brutal to fight. You say they won't have enough mana? Well what do you call enough? With the right equipment and all the extra trains going to mana, I think 1000+ mana is very likely, and that my friends is already enough mana for any cleric. I could go on with more specific details but I am not gonna delve deeper into that pool.

So yeah bring on your ogre clerics, just be sure you don't ask me to fight any.

You can play a cleric fine with 800 mana.

And i doubt anyone is going to dress a Ogre in MAna/HP gear.

With a glaring Vuln to magic, most would be focusing on Hit/Dam or on Saves.

Also Ogres then to regenerate their mind like a snail. It could be very tricky.

Anyway no way to know for sure unless one appears.

This magic moment....

Sorry just pictured Malch making a ogre cleric and laughing while he did it...

When I have played ogres I have always had the most trouble with shaman. Equipped properly they can handle affliction pretty well especially given their ability to shrug off damage. But the shaman, well, it just sucks to fight one. Cleric's can cure poison, disease, and blindness. Not to mention you can just word or portal off. OH... Spell turning anyone? I just don't see how it would be a balanced combo. If someone was able to make one, more power to them. I guess that is really the only way to see how it will go.

Except a Shaman could still blasphemy, with relative ease. Imagine... A blasphemed Ogre cleric. That just sounds funny.

Ogres can be evil, neutral, good - right

clerics can be evil and good - right

so does this mean, ogres will be given the choice, like all the other races that are able to join the cleric guildhall - be able to join the shamans and healers?

the thought of a ogre healer is just... oh god, ahaha I words cannot describe how I feel about seeing a ogre healer.

ogre shaman, not enough mana. plain and simple.

ogre shaman' date=' not enough mana. plain and simple.[/quote']

True, healers though...

Anyway, halfling healers will still be better.

Lets not put the cart ahead of the Ox's.

Clerics, not healers or shamans. I find Ogre helaers/shamans quite unappealing.

Spell turning is not the "godness" everyone thinks.

You can put spells throw spell turning. I have taken quite a few.

And with such a magical gap, you just cannot focus on Hit/Dam, you need to punch up the saves, or you are history.

  • Dispels will kills you.

I predict that if a Ogre Cleric surfaces, that Attriction will be the best way to kill him.

still confused

I need to learn about this "attriction" I bet it is the reason why I suck at PK. I'm confused as to why all races cannot be clerics. Religion is not restricted to any number of races. Sure, sure balance I know. I just have always been curious. I remember playing DnD as a youngster and having a half-ogre mage. Granted I was almost always brawling when it came to combat, but it was outrageously fun RPing a half-wit mage. I'd deliberately fail spell rolls, burn up all the food instead of lighting the campfire, rock my iron armor and cast call lightning. Needless to say my title was something like "the amazing Lightning Rod of confusion and general mayhem" the lightning rod part for sure...then confusion and...something.

I think it will be through inbreeding not attriction. Whatever that is.

With 2 items I can think of off the top of my head, you would have one HELL of a time breaking my spell turning.

Mya you do know that most of the awesome saves gear usually has +hp or +mana right?

the problems going to be mana..mana mana mana..

with no mana you dont heal diseases..you dont heal anything

as a drow shaman/cleric, you still run out of mana sometimes.

No the problem won't be mana, you will have plenty of mana. I'm telling you if a fire giant can have enough mana then an ogre would have enough as well.

I am yet to see a successful fire giant shaman.

The problem is not mana, even fire giant can get more mana than a drow, what is he going to get hurt by is mana regeneration though.

Items can fix this - useable and ones bought.

There have been quite a few successful fire giant shaman. All it takes it patience to train them, and thought to play them.
