There is little need of skills to encourage RP. All you need is the will to RP. And time. A thing that pummeled cabals do not have. Being in a Cabal is quite time consuming.
"I think the ability to restring a weapon would be nice - much like Dark Knights can do - but I imagine this would have to much opportunity for abuse."
I say this is a false problem. In my view this comes from the old Ninja Alias anyone could abuse. Cabal players are required a certain level of RP.
A logging feature coupled with players to imms notes can keep this quite healthy.
What i do not like is weapon names restring hiding the weapon type.
Weapons should be named "the sword, Durandiel" "the mace, Lightbringer" "the rare DragonSlayer" "the Whip, Buttkicker".
Hermes note: Player of the Whip, Buttkicker has been expeled from Heralds for abuse of restrings.

Mya, if you have the will to emote your *** off for the sake of emoting, good for you. Personally, I feel skills and perks for doing so would be nice... to match the already completely pk oriented skill sets in place.
It is sad to know that to most people, being in a cabal means only warfare. While warfare and pk is definitely an essential part, it is a part... not the whole. If you are only killing people, you are doing something wrong.
Like?
I've always favored the idea of being able to manipulate your title when in certain cabals. Example would be "Sir So&so" to describe a person in knight. I've always wanted Nexus to have titles like "Dark So&so" Lord was a great addition for Tribunals, just thought I'd point that out.
In terms of actual skills lets start with Nexus since I'm so farmiliar with them.
We can add a skill that you have the choice of using, which tells everyone in the area that "Dark nexus so&so has just entered the city of Rheydin." Haha this kinda reminds me of that episode of the simpsons when they were mimicking wow. When bart entered a town. Hmm, that's another idea, why are cities called cities and not towns?
With syndicate. You can have access to a skill where you can bribe any mob into not servicing you out of fear/retalliation/past debts & iou's (the reasons can be stated by the mod when you try to ask him for something) and sends a tell to the syndicate member. This actually is a pk tool tool as well. With regards to rp it can better shows the influence of that particular crime lord on members of Aabahran. Yes I realize Syndicate are supposed to be secretive but in addition to it they also lack so much rp that can be utilized that its quite sad.
Also with Syndicate I was also found of the idea of being able to take a hostage. Maybe you'd be able to have that option when your opponent is stunned and mirror the effects of being captured by a tribunal.
What if we allowed a trader clan in syndicate with actual skills. One idea I have is revolving around drug deals and ofcourse they can only take place in (cities which similar to being forced to place bounties in cities). This should force Tribunals to create new laws against it. These drugs should either take the place of some that are already in the lands or can be a new addition to the ones already out there.
What about giving Warmasters or Watchers something similar to camp where it kinda sets up a visible camp in a single room for all to see. I can think of a few ways this may encourage rp.
Okay I know these are only ideas and not actual skills/spells. But I'm sure the skills/spells can come from these ideas. Let me know what you think.
Great ideas, man. Please, keep them rolling. The addition to titles is great, which is another reason why I liked the deputizing of people. It added deputy to their title.
How about something to encourage roleplay with the youngsters too. As we know, most new people are encouraged to not pass beyond 30 until they get their bearings, and therein lies the rub. They sit at >30 and no big guy talks to them. I remember getting rp'ed to by the greats when I first started, and it gave me a reason to stick around. Now a days, if you get an emote out of a cabal member when you are below pinnacle... you are one lucky SOB usually.

I'm not sure redoing the short descs of all weapons that don't say their weapon type is the way to go ("whatever the **** this is, Blonkywan" is kind of funny to think about, though.)... maybe an ability that can be used that will let you know what weapon type they have?
Make a skill for anyone to use (like consider) where you evaluate a players weapon? It could be attached to the Lore skill so that you can find out more about the weapon than just what it is, maybe where it is from.
evaluate mya
Mya is wearing Buttkicker! You recall that this is a weapon of antiqueity, rare, and is sought after by whip experts!
evaluate a-gutarist
a-g is wearing Duriandiel, the sword of flames! If you couldn't already tell this is a sword you've gotta read to the end of the line!
If so inclined, make it like defuse, where everyone has it... certain classes have it as a "real" skill, and are better with it. Then, you could run it through analyze. So, bards would have it to the max, but everyone else could still use it.
a-g
"redoing the short descs of all weapons that don't say their weapon type"
No need for that, just make the skill that brands the name on weapon appendix the weapon type.
A sugestions. For example Sigils, are intended to be observers of evil, ie: the seers in the Knights tower.
Why not give them an spell like Bard's Analise but that can be performed outside of the room, akin to "know aligment" and "locate object".
You could also force them to be in a particular room, like the Seers room, with a Palantir (lotr)....
Of course a warning message should be given to the person being analized.
Oh my god I'm laughing so hard at what I just saw
. Mya Queen of misinformation. When did this happen?
I think Knight skills are very good... shrug

Have you crowned yourself the anti-tassinvegeta or something? You seem to have been going against a few of my ideals recently.
I think Sigil skills are great. I think if you compare Knight Praetorian skills to Nexus Reaver skills however, there is a big imbalance in favour of Reaver skills until you get to E. Just my opinion. Reavers get some pretty slick skills.
I'll reply in a bit with respect to RP orientated skills, this was just what stood out to me and now I have to go to work.
Dey
Still nothing from you, Deykari?
I got an Idea, what about we Nerf the Nexian Weapon skill ?
I've got an idea as well, I will go out and make a snowman \o/
