If Sliths are creatures of the wilderness from the help files, why cant they become rangers? The only thing I could think that would bar them is that autotrip thing with their tail. But that move can be countered by flying and also does it even occur a lot to be a dependable?
Slith ranger
It actually occurs quite a bit ... not just the trip, but a regular attack from the tail as well. I would say, at least on my recent slith, that it averaged either a trip or an attack at least every other round.
I dunno if it'd be a good idea to let them be rangers or not, but I definately think that'd be a very interesting combination.
There were slith monks on Aabadoned Realms..
Slith monk would be insanely overpowered. Slith ranger...good and neutral racial perks other than the tail would be useless and evil perk would make pretty much every other kind of ranger that isn't ogre/halfling pointless. I don't like it...
Heh chameleon would be nice in cities.
Not really. If you can camou whats the point? Also you have beast as well. So you can camou in one spot in the city with pets and cant move. I think I would rather just stay in the forest/mountain/grass.
easy easy
Thou shalt not judge another player's RP, lest your RP be judged. Except for me. I'm allowed because I'm right.
But seriously, if it were exactly the same, there would be no reason to not implement it. You never know what RP angle it would open in another player's mind. You never know what combo will spark enough of a player's interest to get him to play that character to the fullest.
The help files on slith always gave the indication they where skilled hunters, with profeciency in a hunting weapon, spear.
This sounds a lot like Rangers. I never see why they could not be Rangers.
Expecialy if you just link Autotrip with Trip % for !NPC. Making Rangers unable to trip.
All other Slith classes have Trip in skill list.
Because they can only be thief/warrior, duh!
I see them more as creatures OF the wilderness, not masters of it.

Blademaster, too.
This topic has been done to death, so I say let it die. But personally I see no reason not to allow sliths to be rangers, except that we hardly need any more rangers right now.
I believe the reason stated in the past has always been that sliths cannot be rangers because rangers are not meant to have access to trip except through their beasts.
I see it like this, and the same way someone else whose name escapes me sees it: They're creatures OF the wilderness, which means that the wilderness controls THEM. In the same way that a citizen isn't the same as a police officer. The law controls the citizens, but the officers work the law. Yeah, citizens can become cops, but that's beyond the scope of my analogy.
Maybe make it like a qclass that they can apply for?
if it aint broke, dont fix it?
