Druid idea.

I think a certain little affect should do half the damage it does in an area that you can camoflauge in, but isn't a forest. I mean, it's not like the area is completely devoid of nature. But it'd be wrong to take it all the way out. And I'd love to see just one room out in a few areas that are a lot more hard to go to at your pinn.

Frankly, I think druids are well balanced enough that we don't need to be toning them down like that.

Well, I'm not talking about toning them down, I guess it'd actually be a tone up. But it'd allow druids to travel to certain areas farther away.

I have NO idea what you're talking about, then, if it's not a tone down.

I've played many druids, but your post is a little too vague at the top, maybe. Oh, DUH!!!! Nevermind, I'm an idiot. I was thinking you were talking about a skill, rather than...that.

Yeah, that would be nice. Seems like me it wouldn't affect PK much, either, it would just reduce the annoyance factor, which I'm all in favor of.

That's what I was thinking. It almost prevents you from soloing some of those harder areas the way it is now. And gimps you while you're doing such.

What's great is after you play a druid or two in a row and then switch back to another char you forget you don't have that affect anymore, and act accordingly till your like...wait a second...

Yes...but it doesn't last that long, try soloing most of those places restricted to higher ranked chars with it.

With all my druids, for items coming from some of those places, it's always more feasible to empty your bank account to get some item almost any other class could go get easily, than try to get it yourself.

w3rd on that. I think something would truly make it nice if it helped you in that aspect. Like if you could make potions that sorta held the effect off.

I don't understand how the RP for that would work. At the very least allow us to summon a bush to sit next to or something, lol.

But I still don't see how your idea will help though. The places where a druid cannot reach, namely gear and desolution, don't have places you can camouflage. So how would your idea help them reach those places?

And isn't the idea of them not being able to go to those places one of the balancing factors? Druids are already one of the most powerful class in the MUD.

There's a reason for that, both in terms of balance and RP:

RP: Druids are creatures of the FOREST. Places like Gear, Winter, Dischord, Desolation... these aren't really forests. You're yearning for the forest because the forest is a fundamental part of your being.

Balance: Druids are, quite frankly, the easiest quest class to get. They still have some very strong powers. The cost of the ease of innate power (class skills) is difficulty in earned power (eq).

I don't understand how halving the damage would upset any balance, though, it's just make it a bit easier to accomplish a few things alone.

Because druids are very easily able to solo strong mobs. It'd make them a good deal stronger to allow them to go twice as long into Winter or other places.

Have you people not figured out how to turn a room green? Druids can go wherever they want.
