Berserkers

Alright, I'm fairly sure that nobody will disagree when I say that zerks have been getting the short stick for years now. Introduction of warrior lores, fired weapons, pugil and other random tone ups for the melees have left the zerks out. The zerks got staff (to avoid instant death to warriors/rangers/ninja) and path lores.

While path lores are interesting, two of them offer additional penalties (anger/devastation) along with their perk. This is nowhere near the increase other melees recieved.

So, these are my proposals...not as a group, but individually:

Allow rest/sleep during panic. Or at least allow relax to..relax panic along with rage..making it a useful skill. Zerks need to play the attrition game too, or they will be dominated by it (as they have been).

Weapondam bonus (similar to ogre). Zerks SHOULD hit harder than any other class, and a lot of times they don't. Warriors get more attacks and unblockable (fired weapons), (not to mention rangers) making their damage potential way higher than even rage allows..without the penalties of rage.

Edge/throw/doublesheath skills. Allow zerks to make throwing axes and auto-toss them during murder or flee. Can also be used for unblockable damage in combat via throw. Might even consider them adding some substance to it (such as paralyze/poison).

Rage grants good mental saves. This will solidify their role as 'mage' killers, while making sense with their clouded mind.

Roar causes auto-flee into random direction. This allows the zerk a chance to survive if things go wrong while raged, but isn't that useful against PCs since it has a 2 round lag and they can attack again. Put a timer on it so it can only be used once every few ticks.

Haymaker + headbutt openers. As explained before, this gives them an offensive edge.

Headbutt may cause thunderclap directional sense. Also showcasing zerks ability to confuse casters/communers enough to maybe kill them.

Give zerks +moves at levelup. This shows the hardiness of zerks and gives them a little perk over the other melees.

Rage grants +1 size due to bulging muscles, etc. This bonus obviously can't be used when not raged, so nobody will have a suprise super laglock.

Almost forgot: Weapon cleave: Be able to cleave off-hand weapons!!!

Edit: I mean comeon! Even monks got another toning before zerks!

I don't see a need for a size bonus while raged, as bodyslam already lags a friggin' long time. In some cases, it might even hurt (getting tripped to death).

I very much like the idea of headbutt and haymaker being able to open combat, and also the idea of headbutt acting like thunderclap. At the moment, headbutt is just a skill to make the enemy flee until it wears off. Adding the little bit of confusion to the flee might actually give the zerk a better chance of getting back into combat - usually the two rounds of lag is ample for the quarry to get away.

Give Zerks the old Warmaster Deathblows. I agreed that it is kind of wrong that Zerks pack less of a punch than warriors and rangers even when raged. they should be the King of damage.

I have plenty of berserker ideas, having played many zerkers due to my love of pissed off dwarven battleragers. Another roar upgrade suggestion... have roar perhaps randomly instill the "fear" affect against the victim.

imho if they were implement any more than 2-3 of those changes, berserkers might suddenly be overpowered as stupid as that sounds. at the same time they certainly need an injection and i would say 1) be able to open with haymaker/headbut and 2) rage gives good mental save bonus.

these two are M A J O R buffs and i think those two alone would bring berserkers into a widely accepted view of competitiveness.

I like the rest/sleep during panic myself. I definately think they need a slight edge to them - not a big boost by any means, just very slight tweaking.

Zerkers already have the extra saves. You cant see them.

They already have extra damage over warrior when raged. You cant see it also.

Ogres are just ogres and stack ogres bonus with class bonus.

Enlarge can be done via items. I have sufered its pain. Bodyslam is more hard to avoid than bash.

Now they could get auto ninja ENDURE when blind. That would be a nice bonus.

Throw is out of class RP. They can already open with a great deal of pain. Charge.

Want a nice bonus, alow to rage outside combat. This would be the best for the class.
