Expanded Religions

Religious fanatics ARE religious fanatics. A fanatic Mormon girl would not allow herself to be felt up by some nerd, nor would she strip in front of a crowd.

A girl brought up in a Mormon family who claims to be Mormon just because that's how she's brought up. Tells everyone she's a Mormon just to look "special." Never has devoutly believed in the Mormon ideaology or whatnot....that's not a religious fanatic. That's called a poser.

I agree. Although just because she doesn't let herself be felt up doesn't mean she's a fanatic, though I don't think that's what you're saying.

mormons hahahaha, you crazy crazy mormons

I talked to a mormon missionarry on the train today

Good for you. I served a mission, and let me tell you, it was the best two years of my life. Of course, they all say that, but that doesn't mean it ain't true.

Dammit! Get back on topic! mutter Kids and thier Mormonism...

Ha! Trying to tell Flers to get back on topic is a useless, fruitless endeavor. I could really go for some fruit right now, by the way.

now, what was the topic again?

You mean there was one?

I like the religions we have now, they all work very well. Harvest could go along with a good nature follower, music could go with anything even mystic maybe. The only thing I think could go cool with religionsis maybe more religious interaction. Between Imm, or envoy or whatever, maybe make holy days for certain religions where people could get together and feast or whatever. Would be wicked cool.

Choose the one God and make up your own religion.

And I'm not saying 'quoted for truth,' I am saying 'quite ****ing true.' Just thought I'd share my slightly different prespective on that.

Anyway, The church religion has always been the catch all religion for players that wanted to roleplay a religion not covered by the other set ones. Crusaders do not make Church a christian religion, Crusaders to not define the Church religion. Crusaders define a sect covered by Church.

Wha Wha Wha, new players need options to

No they don't. New players need to imerse themselves into FLs world before they start trying to define FLs world.

What Wha Wha, players need options!

Players have options, for some reason some of them just don't take advantage of the oppertunities presented to them. Is it that players don't want freedom in the game? I freaking doubt, tell players they have to play a certain way, and we'll have a crusade about forced rp, or not understanding rp, over powered rp, how this structure is a bad idea. Take away structured RP and you'll hear about trash, and abuse generated from rules and the seeking of structure. It just doesn't seem like the staff can win.

Why should the imms code in a bunch of new religions, granted doesn't appear to be difficult to do at all, for little or no affect when players can just select church and play however they want? It's not like people are hounding behrens to get any coding done. Now I'm not against people posting ideas, but to push ideas that are already available to the players who actually try and do work? Come on, who's lazy? FL is an open rp world, for the most part, and this world is your oyster, for the most part.

An Imp gave an answer in the second post of this thread. You want a religion not represented by the big 15, then pick church.

WC

You know what, WC, I was going to argue, but I do believe you are right. Aside from a few perks of NPC dieites, I don't think I can field a good argument to warrant the work.

Oh well, I still like the idea because it creates long-lasting Gods that don't change per actual IMM (such as has happened all throughout FLs history). Also, dare I say, I think WC and all of his ridiculous rambling has made me tempted to try out the "Church" and do some new RP stuff.

WC

I think there should be a worship command.

worship irumeru.

You dedicate your life to the path of life.

worship chayesh

You dedicate your life to the path of death.

Just let people pick their own "deity" of any god, or...you could

worship self

You dedicate your path to yourself.

and have no religion. Or...

Worship

...

shrug It would be kinda cool.

Well to fix the flow of time in FL thing make it so that the holy day, or week or whatever works like this. I forget how long each real life day is in FL time (I think it may be like 3 weeks or something, that could work in a very Italian style of worship kind of way) but that would be how long the feasts would last. And now because we wouldnt want like a special holy thing like every day we could make them bi-annually or something like that, have the heralds post calendars and whatnot of these special outings and reminders that people could just show up and have a good time (while watching their backs, like always) at good religious days, or have enormous blood baths on death religion days. Maybe make some cool rules maybe like "If the followers of said religion (we will say Compassion for arguement's sake) are attacked while praying and feasting they will be allowed to defend both themselves, and companions against attack." Kind of close to ganging, but just defending themselves and brethren.
