This skill(or spell) would display the resists/vulns of the target(factoring in all current affects). It would be useful for mobs in changing your weapon or spells to hit their vulns, and useful for PCs for the same reasons. It would encourge the finding out of vulns/resists of races/mobs in game instead of through guess/check and the forums.
It could work for melees and give them an edge on identifying mobs..mages can id items. Or it could work for mages with their superior insight. Or it could work for specific classes that need a fun boost..like bards or zerks (obviously rename it)..or it could for cabals that specialize in killing strange beasts..aka watcher.
I see little room for overpowerment here as it could be potentially given to any class/race/cabal in some form or another, and if you put it as a high level skill, it couldn't be used to scout out mobs to fight certain qclass players.

It already exists as the bard skill 'analyze'.
Though it would be cool if warriors and berserkers had it, too.
who plays bards..err..hmm.
who plays bards..err..hmm.
The same people who play Heralds.
So..You..Mathicus..and...uhm....
I played a dwarf bard to like 25 once, mastered like crazy, then got completely owned by a thief. Swore off bards after that. I mean, a rank 25 thief? C'mon.
I ranked a faerie bard to 49 once!
Ranked Etso to 49, (half-elf bard) then died a million times and got stuck in a huge exp hole.
i rolled a bard and got rank 6. but that was because of other projects. seem to always come up with a new, better idea of what I want to play.
I remember that.... I ended up getting a pinn before you did and you played for way longer than me.
That's true, I suppose, it's just that I think that one time has been the only time in the last year or so that it's happened to me. Pretty annoying.
Didn't you used to play thieves all the time?
Heck yeah, I still do, though not quite as much as before. That's why it generally doesn't happen to me.
The consensus among the Imms is that only bards should have the "analyze" skill because it makes the class more unique.
Hrm. I read that quick and thought it was a skill just for WC...
