ranger skill - improvise

I dun got no help file, but I think it would be cool, if, instead of just making a staff, rangers could, like, improvise daggers, and tools, etc. etc. just a thought

not new, replacement. it would be signifigantly weaker than a normal weapon, even a katana, but it would do in a pinch.

eh... doesn't matter to me, I never play rangers, and i've never been beaten by one, so I'm fine. was just bored.

It'd be a neat skill for warriors who don't like carrying around lots of shiny weapons for every occasion.

I swear to god if the rangers ever get a new skill I'll just quit. Let me just shoot my bow at you when I'm somewhere you cannot possibly get. Then kill you 6 times and each time just take the one thing that gives you any chance whatsoever against everyone else since they know all the insane combinations of race/class/cabal/equipment to make you completely and totally ineffective.

God I love rangers.

Speaking on behalf of the Ranger guild, give us Improvise. Or owner only arrows. Or give our Arhcers auto-counter-fire immunity. Or, just give us call lightning.

If they get that...give someone a skill to torch the forests. Or something that can break their bowstrings or something...

Hehehe. Archery is honestly not that bad. In fact, it's not all that great vs someone who has a bow. Because of autofire and because of ranger arrows just being given away to everyone, anyone with a bow (ninja, ranger, warrior) can fire back at you, out of range, and sometimes do more damage than you. People who aren't that great with it will spam themselves to death and get screwed sometimes. Archer ranger vs non-archer ranger just really makes the archer useless.

Archers get all these kills because = people stay in the fight too long if they are losing...the ranger just pops off shots as they try to run. People just run around when they are getting shot at (recall! get out of there and wait till you get the jump on them)

If you let an archer run you in circles and pop shots on you...most likely you will not win. Controlling the archer ranger arrows will stop all the ninjas and warriors and non archer rangers from having the cool arrows that only archers were meant to have.

Giving us call lightning will make us feel better about ourselves and stop deleting so much.

You got me there...I definately mess around way too much with archer rangers. They are still mighty tough to beat, especially when you both notice each other at the same time. You are gonna take a couple arrows in the face before you get them, and their various effects makes it so much worse. Archers should only get archer arrows cause they are just so nasty.

I have to agree with Zrothum about making the arrows of archers owner only or ranger use only , kinda like the reason a certain classes potions were changed to that as well.

The plague arrows are just a joke, the plague is strong and with it limiting movement and movement gain becomes rather sick, its like fighting a fricking shaman thats been trained by fricking robin hood and conan the barbarian. I recently died cause plague zapped up all my moves and I realised I had no recalls (yep stupid, please dont anyone say anything about preparation or failure to prepare, prepare to fail) so there i was standing there getting fricking shot at, ten arrows or so later im dead right up there as my most fun moment in FL Still I imagine the player of the said ranger had a right old laugh.

So no do not add anything to rangers, in fact in cases like mine, my character should fricking find cover or at least hold up a shield its pretty obvious someone is shooting arrows at him, if i wasnt so pissed i would have done a jig to see if i could avoid at least one of the arrows

I always have a good laugh when I kill someone with nothing but long range arrows. All of my archer rangers were good for a few laughs.

So just keep running past the archer and plague them too once you're plagued . Especially with all the ogre rangers around it won't take more than a couple passes.

I wish the ranger-style arrows would be easier to get. It's rather annoying when everyone else got the cool arrows, and I got only some stupid sparkling.
