Why not dwarf paladins?

I mean elves have gotten ninjas, why not give the dwarf the paladin class? Has logical rp, and I'm sure alot of people would enjoy being one. Lots more added rp/and make for an interesting new challenge.

Only if we get duegar and fire giant dark knights, and storm palis.

I don't quite understand the fire giant/dark knight or storm/pali, duegar, questionable. Was only mentioning it because dwarves have been known as paladins in past D&D games and such, just thought it would make for a different class/race combo, its only an idea. Fire/darkknight, yeah right, that fits completely into the rp of things.

Fire DK no less rp than Fire shaman IMHO. And Dwarf Palis would be neigh unkillable. 25 con, plus magic resist, plus pali...Add in good str/int/wis...shudder I mean Dwarf Clerics are hard enough to kill.

true, guess no good for balance reasons

Imagine a fire giant DK with 25 str, over 1000hp, and a bash to end all bashes ;p

can't imagine how a dwarf paladin could compare honestly.

I know, I was just saying how bad-arse a FG DK would be.

That's where your hitting your first wall. This isn't D&D, it's FL. I never played D&D seriously, but I'm pretty sure I've noticed more differences to how things are done than similarities.

Instead of saying 'why not?' say 'why so...'

You've declined race class combinations on rp, and you've opened dwarves upto paladins because of rp, but not once have you explained it. If you want your idea to have weight, you've got to give it weight by filling it up with reasons.

I mean elves have gotten ninjas' date=' why not give the dwarf the paladin class?[/quote'] Just for kicks, I don't see how you made this jump. Two races that have opposite stats and two classes that have opposite fighting styles sorta an apples and oranges kinda thing.

WC

If they do that i want my Halfling Paladin to.

Now seriously Dwarfs are not suposed to be a mounted combat race. Have you ever seen a Dwarf on top of a horse charging a enemy ? You whould sonner see a Avian or a Halfling. This is the RP thing.

Now for Balance. They would be extremely hard to kill and powerfull on the ofensive. Now that i see it, so are most quest race/class so...

So lets do a balance check on Dwarfs.

21 18 21 18 25 stats.

The STR mean they will have the same physical offensive power of a Human Paladin, but the mentals mean they will have a bit less Mana to burn.

The Con is just insane and coupled with MAgic rresistence they will be the bane of Shaman classes.

"Constitution determines how many hit points you gain per level and how

healthy you are as well as aids in defense aganist maledictive magics."

Huge vulnerability, expecialy if fighting on water.

And a huge bane, the thieves class. Paladins are already not apt to fight them, because of lack of area spells and a mean of keeping them not hiden.

With a Dwarf it will be a thieves guild holyday everytime one of them enters a city.

So in the end you will have a Human Paladin with a vulnerability but that can stay in battle almost twice as longer.

My eyes are bleeding.

The highest str of all paladins, The highest con of all paladins, Magic resistance. You would be seriously surprised. A fire giants bash does not get much better, A fire giant dk would not work very well since most of a dk fighting prowess require some mana to activate. Low int, Low wis, Low dex. Your mals would NEVER land. you would use all your mana amplifying. mastering any spells would be tedious at best. A fire giant dk is really not that great an idea. Would lose a staple spell.

Fire giants, in my opinion, were originally ruled out (before the fireball change) due to the increased dmg of fireball with them being a fire giant making a fire DK just disgustingly awesome.

...Or half-elf mages. I never got why half-elves aren't allowed to be mages since both their parents can be.

Thats one I -really really- don't get either  -snicker-

I don't see anything that would make them overly unbalanced...

No rp considerations, I mean even an outcast from both societies would have that much more reason to huddle off to themselves and spend long hours in study -shrug-

Maybe it's because they already have enough/too many class options and they feel it'd just make it unfair?

Who knows. -blink-

(as I -never- play them -seriously no point  did i just say that?

Well there is one.... but I never had any interest in them. - i really can't affirm 100% the validity that they're banned from all mage classes. - )

Half-elves can be Psis.

As previously stated by Chayesh, psi's are not mages

Eh, they cast.

they use their BRAINS.

the speed at which a half elf trains would mean a couple of things. Mainly that you could level a half elf invoker from fireball to sanctuary with spells alone. And master them at mach 10.
