Similiar to the Top10 and Tribunal Roll Call, the PK list would show the greatest PKer's read in from the pfiles. Could either count strictly number of kills or a kill to death ratio algorithm for kills over 50. Could either be a command like or an object like the Roll Call.
Two seperate lists. The Apotheosis (light) list and the Depredation (dark) list keeping track of the top pker's for both alignments.
For neutrality there could be a third list, or just incorporated into the 'overall' list for TopPK. This would be more of an 'all-time' list, not a 'current' list as there would be no algorithm to check for inactive players. They deserve as much credit if they are in the pfiles and have high PK's.

Making pk list, in my opinion, would advocate, somewhat, the ideal of trash pking to raise in ranks (see the post on Wow pk rankings posted a long time ago)
Plus people would get a group together and go up together. OOC connections = not so wonderful.

It would certaintly change the way many people play the game for the worse I think. Fisrt of all, wheras normally, because nobody know each other's PK record, you might mercy someone out of RP, or leave someone alone who's already very wounded/naked, with a 'league table' quite a few people would take advantage of these situations much more with the purpose of getting their name in lights. Add to that the sort of OOC-spin it puts on things. If you log-in at pinn and you see "Stevie Ray Vaughan the Master of War" who you've never fought before, your play towards them would be different than if you've checked the league tables and you've seen that "Stevie Ray Vaughan the Master of War" has 500 kills and 0 deaths. You might well get peolpe changing the way the act towards a truly brilliant PKer, not out of the IG experience they've had with them but rather based on looking at the league tables.

If there was going to be something like this, to make it more IC, I would think it would have to be a count of which good had killed the most evils, and which evil had killed the most goods, creating champions of both good and evil.
But I still don't like pk record meaning much. Who is to say the person who has pk skills, but uses them more conservatively and defensive because of his rp is a worse pker?
If soemthineg there should be the Champion (good) and the Scourge (evil/neutral) of the Land, like Questor thing, but instedd of pure Pk rate, it should be Pk to Death ratio. As in people you killed divided by number of lives lost.
Since there is only 2 spots its not like it would affect anything, as we already know who are the top Killers in the lands.
That's a very cool idea as well. We 'OOC'ly/or IC know who the Master Quester is, who has the highest bounty on thier head, and who the top Tribunals are. A Champion of the Light and Dark would be fun to have. Although if you are going by ratio you have to have a certain number of kills set. Or a lowbie could rank to 10, pull off a kill on another lowbie and log out, and he'd sit at Champion with 100%

I happen to like the idea, even if it never gets up. I would like to see even how many pks I have had with my chars, but I never keep count. Except with one char but I lost track at like 60 or something. I also liked the top addicts of the month but it doesn't seem that that is comming back anytime soon either. If they did come into play though it would be interesting to shop the hours and pks every char has for the month.
Cant put people playing time in there, there would only be healers on that list

Pure PK rate is beter, there is no way some newbie is going to get 5 kills and no death and surpass a vampire, expecialy if you put a 40+ Rank cap on it.
40 rank because 42 is the time you can be attacked by those 50's who have chosen evil human cleric and suicide infront of your elven Paladin/blademaster.

The MUD is about RP. We've created a world with a varied and elegant history. We're not playing Counterstrike. The fact that this beautiful world has bloodthirsty murderers who will live on in legend like the Ted Bundys of our world doesn't mean we'll comemorate them.

But actually some people play this mud strickly for pk(I know we need to get rid of them) and some play just for rp. But me, I roll different char's some for all rp and some for all pk, mostly my pkers end up being rp chars...
I hate the idea, not to bash on the thread creator.
