I came across that idea, Why wouldn't ferals be hand to hand fighters? arent they the twisted, hardened humans that left? Why wouldn't they be able to fight with hands? I also contradict myself thinking a certain feral skill would over power them as well?
just an idea at almost 7 am.
Whew. I -wish-. Then again, someone who's better monks then me, would roll a feral monk, and kick my ***. So no, overpowered. Extremely. Mini-haste and fury? Nahhh..
Ferals can be blademasters, which are pretty close to monks in terms of obscene crit hit dealing.
except that blademasters cant air thrash
so in essence, You can Fury someone get it to then air thrash them, death. A monk laglocking a mage is ruthless. I agree that feral would be overpowered as a monk, given their autodefense mastery and a few other nice things. I just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way about it that I do lol. I think a feral monk is similar to going squirrel hunting with an rpg, hell yes its gonna be fun, but jeezus its overkill.
Monks are one of the more powerful classes, balanced out by the fact that only the weakest races (human and h-elf) can play them. Not a fact per say, just how I feel about them.

You have obvously not fought many humans or half elves, there are no "weak" races. As a matter of fact, humans have one up on alot of races given balanced stats, and NO VULN! Half elves also train faster than anything. You also forgot that elves can be monks too. And I know your not calling elves weak.
Elves can not be monks...

And every race, outside of giants and minotaurs, that can be warriors can be blademasters also...

feral monks won't be overpowered in my oppinion,oh god isn't blademaster feral the same like feral monk? The fire vulnerability is a big problem for them to be overpowered.
It's been said before, and I'll say it again... just because a race can be a blademaster does NOT mean they can become a monk. A monk dedicates himself to spiritual concerns, and fights through controlling his mind and body. Blademasters focus on being really good with blades for combat reasons. Ferals are a wild people... I don't see any of them becoming monks.

Should dwarves be monks aswell?

RE: Emp Like I said, not a fact, just how I feel. Werebeasts have balanced stats and no vuln, so why not mention them? H-elves train faster true, but all that is is a little less time spent training. I've faught alot of people, and alot of race/class combos. I've never been scared of a human anything. I know why some people like them, I just dont. Just my opinion.
Re: WC: Yes, my point was that blademasters have a similar playstyle to monks so a if you wanted to play a feral monk you could substitute a feral blademaster for it.
So you think it would be alright to have a slith monk?
WC
If that question was directed at me, then no. I never said any other races should get to be monks, other than ogres of course. I said they feel the same when you play them, not that they are the same.
Way too easy for a monk to cover the feral vuln.
Way, way too easy.

when I first started I tried ar too. They had slith monks. Insanity, utter insanity. I have already said it would be an overpowered combo. I was just curious on everyone elses thoughts. Don't turn this into an argument. Leave it a debate.
Werebeasts have balanced stats and no vuln...
Since when is an allergy to silver not a vuln?
Since when is an allergy to silver not a vuln?
Since when do werebeasts have a silver vuln?
Since before Viri left as I recall.
Very cliche. It's not now, but it was in the helpfile before they were re-vamped so that it reflects the current instead of the different forms based on gender. That being said, they've had that vuln since day 1. Or at least my first day.
I...personally...would like to see an ogre do some whirlwind kicks, tiger claws, and roundhouses....it'd be like a morbidly obese Chuck Norris
