New Necromancer Ability:Soul Devour.

Essentially, this would be an ability, whereupon the Necromancer consumes several souls (5?), and restores a lost con point.

Not terribly unbalancing, nothing that will GREATLY help an experienced player, just some little touch to the class.

Restore a lost con point? Are you kidding me? Like we need all the necros to survive for forever. Besides, that's what con quests are for. And they have vampiric touch for healing. EDIT: Erm, I forgot. I was under the impression that you only died permanently when you run out of con, but I realized I may be wrong. I'm not sure.

I like it better as being able to recover hp by consuming a soul.

Still have the normal amount of lives, just restore con points.

But being able to restore HP would be a little much.

I disagree. Restoring Con normally takes trains, which are much rarer than items that heal you. I am not talking about giving more base health, just healing damage. Or an interesting idea would have the consumed soul give the necro a boost like that one permanent healer thing.

I personally don't think Necros need to become any more powerful. In both cases, this would enhance a necro's fighting ability beyond most other skills. Tick-to-tick healing is based on constitution, among other things, and with higher constitution, you recover more hp. As far as having it being a healing ability, someone already said it. That's what vampiric touch is for. Anyone who has ever fought a necro knows that for them to be able to flee and return significantly healthier in a tick or two would be very detrimental to necro-killing strategy.

Granted, but the ability to heal yourself quickly, and for a soul or two you'd want the payoff to be useful, or you wouldn't want it at all, would be a bit much for a Necro.

As you said, there are already many means of healing, so this is in addition to this, being able to vamp touch, and just normal sleeping on the tick. Even if it had a large cooldown time, chance to fail, etc, it'd still be quite nice and would remove the need (somewhat) for the old necro flee and touch. They have their HP spell right there, Battlemages get Field Dressing, PSI aren't discussed, and Invokers get nothing.

The ability for a Mage to heal is powerful, and is limited for a reason.

Soul Tap is there for a reason. It is a good use of souls, IMHO.

Ya gotta give them out in the first place for him to even get a Lich. I know there's supposed to be some big RP plot that goes on when they all come out, but they've been 'released' for like a month now and there still hasn't been any that have gotten it that I've seen.

Maybe no one worthy has applied.

Don't give them perm affects...healers are unique like that

I would like to see something where a healer can take someone's soul and place it back in their body like a resurrection. That way there is rp for one fighting to save a friend's soul. Would be really neat.

Then, give necros this ability, but upon the death of the necro...make it so that the souls they have devoured come pouring out of their body...making for great rp plots of returning the souls to the bodies of their victims.

Except we then have the problem of aggressive healers, which last I heard was bad. Might have changed...Sides when liches show up there will be plenty for healers to do...other than go after vampires.

My healer was agressive, then again I was outcasted hah. Was well worth that dead necro.. and paladin... and other healer... RAWR!

A necro walks up to my healer, he can expect to lose all his pets. They are undead suckas and my healer vanquishes undead.

Yeah, all "restored" con points lost upon your next death, and anyone online who's soul was used for the soul devour gets a "You feel more at ease" message, or some such.
