As a ranger, what kind of Hit/Dam should I look for?

Just waiting for you to get slept, dispelled and slaughtered.
Depends on your race really. Certain races can get a better hit/dam than other races. If you're an Elf, that's pretty good. If you're an Ogre, you might try pumping it up a little more still. Don't worry overly much about mental saves, poison negates anything similar to the sleep spell, only thing you really have to worry about is dispel magic, but even then if you're putting out damage way greater than your opponent is (you've got two pets after all AND you're hitting like a Warrior at times), saves aren't exactly important. Unless you're a Feral Ranger, then you're going to want to pump up some afflictive saves to around -50 or better. Then you should be good for the most part.

You definently need more saves. Either, that, or more hit/dam. With what you have currently, there is no way you can hit an evil cleric, shaman, or invoker hard enough and fast enough to kill them before they kill you. You need to either ditch saves entirely, and get 60/60 hit/dam, or find some better pieces of equipment, enough so that you're looking at around 40 hit, 30 dam, and -40 mental, aff, and mal saves (once you add in svs vs spell).
Don't listen to them, forget the saves get an 80/80 hit and dam and try to use weapons your opponents can't and utilize thunderstorm. Then you will rock. If not and you die then go get -60 of all saves and go back and try. You can never have really good saves AND really good hit/dam.

nope, I'm not being sarcastic. I was just hoping to point out that tactics outweigh eq scores/stats.
w/ a feral ranger i'd be ALL hit/dam to a 50/50 then aff saves. ambush them, dirt/fury (case dependant) and flee, pop off some shots, and chase w/ murder.

thanks, I will try that. I marksman so I cna amke some arrows
Thunderstorm any Drow/Elf or other high dex race. It hurts them more than it hurts you usually. You'll be outdamaging them for the most part with a 40/40 hit/dam even if they're an Invoker/Cleric.
