I had tried out carrion fields tonight while forsaken lands was down
one thing I did like was how much different each warrior could be from the next, with the various lores and specializations. Was wondering what everyone thought of warriors getting a bit of an overhaul, have two or three choices for various attacks depending on what weapon one chose to master, instead of the one or two choices at most? Something to give a bit more finesse to warriors then dirt disarm bash/trip that makes up a good part of warrior pk?
Rework warriors?
warriors are definantly a dying breed. So eq dependant it is NOT funny at all. And with the difficulty of gaining good weapons without a group, it just leaves warriors as fodder for those drow clerics and shamans.
Warriors.
Warriors are meat because they have no way to lag a smart communer/mage. Until that changes, warriors without sick sick sets will continue to get tooled by mages/communers.
But when you DO get those weapons you're a force. And I mean a force. Who says you need a group to get them? I have soloed Gear, deso, winter, dischord on my warriors. So have others.

You can have the best set, and solo Adeptus himself and still get tooled by an invoker/shaman/cleric etc with a warrior. It will stay that way as long as warriors have no possible means to lag a smart caster/communer. You can argue that or cite the past as much as you like, but with no more auto-deathblow, you won't see a warrior crushing everyone unless that player is someone special and his enemies are...well...not so special.
Hrm...

If warriors had a way to lagg these classes they would be the ones getting tooled.
lag
They DO have a way to lagg them..
But they cant keep them lagged locked.

I find soloing gear part very hard to believe. But maybe its just that my last gear group of 5 died horribly.

You obviously have not seen a warrior with the best set. I saw a warrior fight once where the only mistake the invoker made was to cast firestorm...... He got four rounded.
Alright.

If you say so.
Agreed.

Stuff like focused bash, mantis maul etc. What I would like to see though is a more consistent way for warriors to lag mages dependent on their specs. Maybe more stuff like focused bash etc but give it variable lag effect. Right now I see warriors getting smoked by casters/communers to the level where they need some major work done.
I will grant you that my biggest fear with a warrior is always going to be evil clerics. Shamans, you can get enough saves to nullify their efforts, and the same for invokers. The damage you can put out while they waste their time is enough to keep em running. Evil clerics though... shudder
You soloed Gear maybe, but ONLY if you were decked. You got decked with a group. Only then could you even think of soloing those areas.
Everytime but once I went to Gear I died with Tamirenal. Hehe. Stupid place. But my eq was at an all time low after I decided I was a peaceful type, and thats just about when I needed good eq.
My char always gave you armor! You just choose to decline it all, haha.

Hehe, I couldn't keep it considering what I was trying to do. Should have, but it would have just put an even bigger target on my back.

A warrior CAN eq alone and solo steel and blood in winter without much trouble. Desolation gets already trickier and I have not seen one single gear at all.
In regard to fighting mages most warriors seem to have the most trouble with battlemages, not invokers or even clerics.
Splitting warriors up to give them more choices and creating different tactics would surely make the class more interesting. I do not think they are gimped now but they are indeed very eq dependant.

Give me a fully trained, decked, warmaster leader ogre warrior, and I'll hand you Adeptus' head on a platter.
We are talking about the class, not the class as a special cabal combination, are we?
WM leader is NASTY.
To an extent, I agree with Bonespur; warrior who are not decked, get dominated. Hard.
But the problem, as I see it, is that if we beef up warriors, the skilled ones who already are decked, the ones already more or less romping the pbase (Rompkei? Grunge? Nortak?), is just going to be utterly unstoppable.
If any changes are to be made, they need to be in terms of equipment, and making warriors less dependant on it, not in changing lag. But I believe that is going to be an incredibly hard thing to do, but still something we should look into.
The most basic class in the game, shouldn't be (as it is) the most hardest to play in PK. Although, granted, it's the best class for ranking/groups.
I'd have to say fully trained, decked, warmaster leader ogre warriors aren't the problem though. Regular ol run of the mill warriors might need a look into, or maybe a slight re-work but nothing substantial. The thing that needs a look into are what destroys them easily, shamans and invokers there are enough svs that you can get by yourself to save you, other melees depending on what race you can hang with....I think you know where I'm going with this. The worst thing about warriors is the amount of eq you have to have for a given situation, prepped for shaman, invoker mows you down, prepped for invoker shaman mows you, prepped for mage, melee takes you and prepped for melee, mage takes you. My worst two are b-mages and clerics, haven't figured out how to do anything against them other than flee.
