After reading the discussions on paladins and dwarves, I got to thinking about the DnD characters I used to play. My characters were usually dual class or multiclass. No I'm not recommending that.
That being said, I'd love to see a fighter/thief type class for demi-humans. Gnome warrior doesn't really work. Dwarf thief would be okay, but probably not great. But what if there was a class that was a little of both? Something for the little people: gnomes, dwarves, and halflings.
Just something that popped in my head in the shower.
Edit: what I mean is that ranger was originally designed in DnD to be a hybrid fighter/rogue. Bard was as well. Ranger is open to both halfer and gnome, while bard was previously available to dwarf.
There's a lot of meleeish classes available to non-giant sized races. If you want one specifically for smaller-sized races (for some reason I thought dwarves were the same size class as humans), I'm not really sure what the point would be. Just for the sake of it?
Also, what's wrong with dwarf/duergar warriors? Duergar thieves? Halflings used to be great rangers/blademasters, but they apparently got nerfed. I'd love to see current classes/skills reworked for non-protective shield characters be more viable outside of the giant races.
I would love to see more melee oriented thieves, something along the line of a bandit path. No blackjacking, just strong armed robbery.
I would just as much love to see a magic oriented thief, something along the lines of a spell thief. Stealing spells from enemy repertoire upon a successful backstab. Max spells learned (level/10)+2.
I feel like thieves started to go down the crapper once everyone started using cabal backpacks.
Cabal backpacks suck mate.
[edit] Besides, even if you can't steal from your enemy, that doesn't mean that thieves have "went down the drain". They are still a very strong class in the right hands.

I know but I remember that making me have to step up my game considerably to get pks in.

Is it wrong that I read this series of statements as "I didn't like that they made me actually work for my kills now"?
It might not have actually been intended, but that's certainly what it looks like.
