Look, hear me out please.
I delete characters not because I am raging about dieing.
I delete because the RP has gone stale, or most often because the characters conflict with a new project that I am eager to play with. I wish I could have multiple quest class characters, but anyways I digress.
For every Lelleiala, or Rathanous I play there are a dozen Yao, Roshan, Arejar, Dolgado, Balforian, Elyndron, Paroxulant, Lethek, Lehas, Bipin etc etc.
If I want to delete one because I'm moving onto some other project I should just be able to do so. We have developed this whole system of asking to be deleted and dropping our gear on the ground and saccing it when that one simple command would do it all.
Can we get this put back to "adult mode" ? please? Thanks.
Not falling for it, you kill me too much for this to be a feature. .
No really stop killing me
Make "delete delete" great again!
Make it a toggle on character creation? If you have TDP syndrome, check "y" when it asks you if you want to disable delete at 50 (but can still ask for denial). Otherwise, mark "n."
This is a feature I'd support. There were a few characters I would have rather deleted than stopped playing. And often times how many people actually drop their EQ and sacrifice it before asking for a ban? I could see a character who manages to get in the hours at the beginning of the month and decide to stop playing them because they went for another angle, but weren't sure whether or not they'd keep the new character. In those instances, they may not even drop and sacrifice their items, which means a lot of items are in limbo for nearly 2 months. Adding it back ensures that people who really need it if they've moved on can do so without hesitation. And for people who are afraid about deletion because they have a case of TDP, a randomly generated password that's not visible to the player could possibly put in upon creation. On top of that if they don't, there's still the command to create your own at any point when you're playing the game as well.

The absolute first post by @f0xx i actually gave a thumbs up to, right on @f0xx! ;)
Deleting is a fantastic way to cleans yourself of a character you think you can do better than in a new life. Who cares of people delete 'their own character' where asking for a denial actually takes more time and effort on a char you want to rid yourself of than 'meh, ill just never log him on again'.
TDP syndrome was one guy who kept rage deleting because he knew he was better than the people he died to, the only thing that was killing him was his ego BUT it also made him roll a nastier character every time he did delete. He made better choices, better weapons, better race, better cabal, ect. Sure it sucked when he deleted a char that was a friend or proper enemy of your char but that is his choice, forcing people to keep chars they dont want leaves that chars stress on the table at all times with no way to alleviate it.
People either care about what their char has accomplished OR they dont, they either learn from their own mistakes and make a better one or they wont.

Best not make any more threads to delete again. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.
Delete a character.
I am all for it.
So long as I can delete yours.
Just kidding. Did not know this was an issue. Leaving Aabahran is not in my wheel house.
Immortals and I have been discussing this since Jul 9.
I see no reason to code something to allow you to decide 'if you wanna delete later'. Seems like a waste of time.
I'll re-enable delete-delete soon. There's already a 'Are you sure you want to waste ****' delete message right now. I'll keep it so you can't delete after death - rather, I'll force 'delete' to revert to 'quit', so you don't just wait out the delete delete bloody restriction to delete.
