Bards.

Err, it was "Mourn For The Lost" not RIP...

Bump.

BAAAHAAARD-DUH! Can we please have hold-only instruments? I hate having to switch from dual wielding weapons to holding a big dumb harp. Tuning instruments only helps if you're holding them, so it only makes sense that bards should hang on to them in battle without having to slap-box your opponent.

but bards tho

yeah, if it can be argued that you can duel wield while shooting a bow... then you can certainly duel wield while playing a few notes on an instrument. though, I suspect, when bards get their, much needed, overhaul that this will be put into effect in some form or fashion.

I'd be happy if I could just avoid the switcheroo. Even if I still couldn't sing during combat or anything. I certainly couldn't play guitar and get stabbed at the same time... I'm not sure if that's IC or OOC experience..

Some instruments, like the one held by the seductive woman, make no sense being held (it has a brace to rest at the mouth, she even wears it on her face). I personally think instruments should be floating or face items.

Also, there are some 1h instruments in the meantime. The silver flute sold by Sharper's apprentice in maelbrim for instance. Sure, it means removing your dual parry bonus weapon, but its better than pretending to be a monk for a while.

I actually thought about this very deeply while taking a dump.

Ok.. time out.  I  can't even take the rest of this seriously.  I am deeply disturbed mya.  PS: I love me some bard, they do need a little bit of something to spice them up.  They can be quite annoying against some classes, but most people didnt even bother wasting sanction (If i didn't get to steal it first).

Tarot card can use a fix also, + to wis, int etc...  = worthless because these will be where or near where we want them anyway from creation.

I'd read Tarot cards before, it's pretty interesting. I feel like the buffs given to readers aren't congruent with the ideas put forth in the Major Arcana. For instance, The Fool is one of the most powerful cards IRL, displaying limitless potential and serving as an indicator of the querent. I feel like it shouldn't be a penalty IG.

Tarot is not really a buff skill. It's more like a neat party trick that you use during RP. One that can kill your friends. Just like fireworks, pretty but deadly.
