Alternate Locker Solutions

As mentioned before, we don't really want Watcher to be like Syndicate.

I haven't seen a real reason to add this, either in RP or for balance considerations. Is this needed for either? What part of game balance is in question here?

I've seen plenty of reasons why we don't need it...

No reason you need to be a materialistic Watcher. Doesn't seem right to me for them to be hoarding or stashing much of anything.

Would it break the game to have this? Probably not. The burden goes to prove why we need something, not why we don't need something typically though.

because I spend thousands of cp on cabal gear, and have no place to put it if I replace it with a rare.

I am not asking to be like syndicate with bribe, all I am asking for is the same utility 98% (al the non watchers in the ENTIRE GAME) get. A safe place to store some non-rares.

Perhaps the proposal could be altered to change the fact that if you get capped your LOCKER gets emptied and handed to the tribbie.

This is the problem. You try to stash non-rare cabal equipment, then if you die the tribbie gets to sacrifice ALL your CP. They cant even use the stuff. They get it in your bag, and once they take it out they get zapped..

Watcher RP definatly forces anyone who has joined the cabal to become an outlaw. Already the pets are not even coded well enough to handle the constant onslaught of guards (you would think a watcher could command a beast that is his pet like a knights servant). Then we add in the loss of reliable and safe locker access.

So Watcher forces you to become an outlaw, cool, can live with that. Why doesnt watcher compensate for ANY of the outlaw penalties. Again, I am not saying I want them to be a mirror of syndi (the rp is a completly different world), but they give NOTHING. What organization prides itself on independence then denies the functions that would make it independent.

Needing a secure location to store things is a part of the game. And why wouldnt a Watcher stash some stuff, like squirells gather nuts for the winter, even the warriors of Gaia must shore up for the coming storm of the Empire! The idea that a watcher owuldnt keep some weapons stashed, or a spare cats eye mask back at home, tucked away in some hidey hole, is perfectly within the RP. We arent idiots, or people who refuse to carry supplies and have no plans for the future.

Think of it this way: Watchers get a ton more CPs than Tribunes. They can typically afford to insure themselves and to buy items again and again.

In general, yes, I would say that Watchers do get a lot of 'compensation' for their outlaw status through their cabal.

Watchers get their specialized pets, just like how other cabal pets have specific purposes. Nothing wrong there, except that maybe the weaker couple choices don't have much use.

You should be thankful that Tribbies don't get your bank balance too.

Just imagine if an Immortal was hiding in a locker, you go to get your shiz and they pop out going, "NO!" and knock you flat on your bum!

I think I would die of LoLing!

By your logic foxx out laws should suddenly be allowed to shop in Tribunal controlled cities again.

I mean, thats available to everyone and is quite unfair if one set of people have it and others dont.

Yes that's my logic, and funny enough, such mechanism already exists for another cabal that often forces his members into outlaw'ness.

As mentioned before' date=' we don't really want Watcher to be like Syndicate.[/quote']

Of course, the RP idea behind Watchers must be different.

I haven't seen a real reason to add this, either in RP or for balance considerations.

Here I will explain the RP reasons and the balance reasons will be explained a bit bellow. So, on RP:

  1. Being a watcher, one shouldn't need the to use the services cities offer. Considering that, the cabal itself should offer some kind of replacement for every service that is offered within the cities.

  2. Why does it have to be watcher RP at all? As mentioned above, Merchants can step in seeking profit and offering their alternative for lockers.

Is this needed for either? What part of game balance is in question here?

I will explain Erana, although as part of the staff you should be the one explaining to me

In FL things work like that: Great power comes with great responsibilities (restrictions)

or

The more restrictions - the more powerful you should be.

Examples:

Healers being unkillable are not allowed to PK 99% of the PB.

Tribunal being one of the strongest (it's actually the strongest in my opinion) cabal has great restrictions.

Qraces/Qclasses being stronger than normal races/classes are kept to higher standards.

Immortals have the "slay" command. They use it only in certain cases though

Basicly things rotate around the logic of every restriction/downside should result in some kind of advantage. THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF BALANCE. Not just in FL.

Watcher which basicly forces its members to be WANTED and outlaws eventually, should offer some kind of compensation, mostly because those two flags bring great disadvantages to the characters in question. Having a great disadvantage and no advantage destroys balance.

No reason you need to be a materialistic Watcher. Doesn't seem right to me for them to be hoarding or stashing much of anything.

Is this even serious? Can't believe you use such an argument in support of your cuase...

Think of it this way: Watchers get a ton more CPs than Tribunes.

I am sorry but, that simply a joke and absolutely not true.

Watchers get their specialized pets' date=' just like how other cabal pets have specific purposes.[/quote']

A pet that either has some melee output or lags and dies pretty fast.

Compared to the Tribunal pet, both are a joke.

I am sorry for posting this reply "Pali style", but there is so much bias in you, that I simply couldn't hold myself.

Hey how about this. Watchers hate cities, civilization, and the empire. Why the **** would they be spending there time mimicing those places with lockers, and banks, and shops etc etc. Personally I dont see why a watcher would use anything a city has to offer. The watcher stands to topple anything that trib stands for, not mimic it with woodgrain.

We both know woodgrain is the hotness... I could see them stashing things away though. Some animals have stash spots. Resistance fighters throughout history have DEFINITELY had secret stashes.

I have a stash!
