Raise the level cap from 50 to 60

I don't agree with raising the cap. Not that it isn't an interesting idea, but what is the point? The game is meant to be played at max level, since I don't have the time to elaborate as I would like I'll just leave you with this question, Why do you want to make it take longer for yourself and everyone else? The levels between 40 and 50 are already something you want to blow through as quickly as possible anyway.

I personally think we should be making fully trained and 50 easier to get to....not harder.

A raise in levels would be accompanied by new skills. For example, at 56 you can get "snoop" and at 58 you can get "ban". Both of these skills are highly effective. One time I banned the whole island of new zealand for a month or two (everyone in NZ had the same carrier 10 years ago)... Yeah, and if I could do it again, I would. Watch your back, Aulian!

That reminds me. Zhokril, please pm me your password, or is it still lirkohzrules?

How about no level cap?

Of course, there would be a theoretical limit.

Well, look what the cat dragged in.

How about open it back up to level 51 as hero, or even call it champion. There can only be one at a time and they would remain in pk range. As well grant them one new skill/spell that would be unique to lvl 51s. This level would also not be a grind level but would be initiated by a quest that would need to be fairly hard to do and the imms would take a vote to allow which characters would be allowed to try the quest. Upon death of the hero Hermes would announce to the rest of the class something like, Your greatest Hero has fallen to his wounds, and something along the lines letting them know a new vote is being done for a new hero. Also there would be a great thing that could be emplaced as well so the person who aquires the status would not just keep it if he shelves or whatever. It can be purged at the end of the month along with armor if they have not logged the required time. I dont know sounded like a good idea last night while me and my dad were talking about it. What do you think?

Go on...

That sounds pretty cool actually. Would kill stagnation at 50.

Well, in order to gain rank, you need experience, and we all know required experience to the next level goes up exponentially after level one. Since there are no mobs in the game higher than level 60, once a player passed that level, they would start getting zero experience from killing mobs. So, in order to rank up, they would need to use experience-gaining magic or player-kill, and even those would provide a paltry amount.

So, the only way to earn any tangible experience would be to quest, which would be a very interesting plot point for very high level characters, I think.

The Immortal staff, in an effort to reduce mayhem, could add a new bit flag to their player file that indicates they are staff, which would mean that the immortal abilities would only be available to staff members. You wouldn't want a ranked level 55 transferring people to their death, let's say.

There isn't anything in the code (that I'm aware of, at least, which isn't saying much) that would expressly "break" if the level 50 limit were removed. Players who advanced past 50 would simply keep going, but wouldn't gain any new skills or spells, since none are configured for the high levels (though they could be).

You wouldn't want a ranked level 55 transferring people to their death, let's say.

You wouldn't want this...

I think thekid is on to something as well. Used to see more "hero" characters around without being staff.

Allowing level 50's to advance past 50 would also slowly remove the strongest characters from the lower 40 PK ranges.

Crypticant blows my mind.

/lets figure this out.

I personally think that rising characters (new at 50) have such a huge PK disadvantage already that if you just hit 50, fighting that well-established cabal elder who is now 53, knowing you can't catch up to their rank for a very long time, would just make it seem all the more difficult and demotivating.

Exactly.

I don't see why everyone is so excited about this idea. It is VERY bad, balance wise.

It'll be fine. We can just try it a little bit and see if its working for both of us. If you don't like it, we can stop. I promise.

I promise.

Do you?

Do you?

Only if you know the safe word. And I know the safe word.

Safe words are for pansies.
