I think it would be *really *cool if for Halloween Madness, we do a few things differently from normal.
Replace dying with being transported to a reheal room that is noncombat, not losing any eq, no crumble, etc. Also provide a mob in reheal room that does temporary oowner/burnproof of weapons/shields so you can't lose them, of course does not last past madness.
Cabal altars get something like 5x the normal health, to encourage fighting to happen all over the globe and make CTF harder. People shouldn't need to be "forced to fight" when there's no consequences.
You can play in madness with your existing character and armor with no fear of losing any of it.
I think we'd see people fighting alot more all out. There would be no need to log off when outnumbered, no fear of losing, etc. I suspect we will see alot more intense pk if people have no fear.

If they do away with pumpkin armor, sure. Otherwise, stats are going to get so inflated there will be no point for some classes playing. Pumpkin armor offers WAY too much to be combined with other armor.

I would just make it so the cabal guards can be passed by anyone. This way, people can't hide inside the cabal from PK.

The problem I see with this is it would open up too much to OOC information. If you want to try a class/combo, just roll that class/combo and play. HM tends to be a bloodthirsty bloodbath, but it is fun to test out different combos you would never want to play.

What do you mean by light and weapons/shield be disabled? Do you mean that no one can use weapons are shields?
Ah, missed that. The only problem with that would be some classes rely more on just those things. Change the stats on those for certain classes and I'd be game. HM is already melee focused. That 30/30 stats on the chest is wasted. Make two sets: One hr/dr -saves and -ac. The other -saves -ac and health/mana.
Pumpkin cuirass = hybrid save armor or something etc.
As long as the values are reflected. You are right about having a separate set for hydrids/clerics. But, at least the three separate sets would balance out HM
