RP Idea

It would be neat if there was an Option for an Imm to turn any room in the lands into an RP room. There would be some kind of world message of , and anyone in the lands could head over. Whatever Imm did this could then have a little fun with a mini RP Plot. The room would hand out exp every tic, maybe 25-50, and random proficiencies will also go up every 6-12 ticks.

There is a "global" command for that. It's called Transfer. And Freeze. giggle

All of the powers you described are already available to high enough level imms, just not hard coded together. As for exp/prof gain, that would also in turn award people who stand there and do nothing, whereas the imm command to allow for exp/prof gain can be handed out individually and on a scale depending on who participates and how much.

I like that you're looking in to ways to enhance RP, however.

The Imm would have total control of the room. They could easily boot someone who wasn't participating. The Imm could even toggle a variable maybe that lets them give any character a multiplier to the exp and prof gains.

What I like about this is the ability of an Imm to create a mini plot anytime based on who is currently online. It would attract hunters and trainers alike because of the bonus, and give people something to remember and build their characters on. Anything to cut the grind would be awesome

edit: It would be good in tandem with the current Imm reward system which is often used to reward people who didn't even know they were being watched.

One problem I can see with this is RP could then last for hours and I mean hours. I know of a couple places like FL without PK and strictly RP and what they call a "scene" which you kinda describing is just too long for a place like FL(it wasn't uncommon for scenes to go for 4-5 hours at a time), though I have seen quite a bit of RP extend longer than a few minutes.

One thing though is while RP is my favorite thing, giving too much experience out for going to a room could easily be taken advantage of.

Geeze... I've RPed with a few different people for HOURS on end. It was fun, and even a few times the Imm's gave us some experience as a "Wow, keep it up yo!" or however they'd say it.

When I use to play it wasn't like that with RP and exp, I like the change. I think it shows the players who are not so for it, that it could be worth it.

Though at level 50 I can't get EXP anymore...

I don't mean to be a thread necromancer (I'm not even an illithid!), but I've had the most fun with the game during those times where I was in an RP session that lasted for hours. Once, I RPed with Caidon for four hours, just the two of us. That was probably the most fun experience I have had in my relatively short time here.

yeah, sounds like an epic idea- but i dont need any xp bonus or skill boosts.

it is fun just sitting around and developing rp and plot for not only your character, but others as well. Immersing myself in the world is reward enough, and it's icing on the cake for whoever I help spurr something.
