lack of good staffs

I'm sure you can play one without a cursed staff. Picking up your disarmed weapon after being disarmed is what im debating.

Now part of what I had originally intended this thread to be about was choosing staff was mastery and not being able to find a cursed one. Even as a warrior it sucks being disarmed and losing everything but dodge and riposte. I had a good drow staff master. Mahogony and Bone. They are always in, and even as a drow (str 18) only Paraxis(sp?) an evil slith BLM ever disarmed me twice in a fight. Choose your lore wisely. (edit) And do not forget to hold it with both hands!!

Bone cane is almost never in.

And really this thread should be called Lack of Evil staffs.

Well blademasters don't get staff so that makes sense.

Fighting a ranger without a cursed staff is no fun though

Tried dual wielding but it didn't go as well, thought about using a shield but then no fired weapons so that doesn't seem like a great idea. Water might prove better but maybe not. We'll see next time I fight them.

vs. ranger ---- Mace. Polearm. You know he knows staff, makes his own, and likely is an expert in them. This is challenging Tyson to a boxing match. Play a game he is unfamiliar with even if it is Not your best known weapon, you will have the advantage.

Rangers are fun. Especially when their pets disarm you.

Also I saw your staves on the ground on the way to Old Thalos.

Want an alternate solution? Have people play non Illithiad Necros and loot their staves.

Uhm. When ranger pets disarm? Have you ever played a ranger? I am about 99% they only trip or attack. No disarms...

No clue what ur talkin about, but ok

Ranger pets do not disarm. The only thing they can do is trip, and/or jump in front of you. Sorry mya!

Displacer beast anyone?

Displacer beast anyone? fact.

Can shield disarm aswell.

I can think of 8 staffs off of the top of my head that are VERY good...and I'm sure I don't know them all.

A very good staff is noremove(or socketable) and average damage above 20.

There aren't 8 of those.

And only 1 for evil. And the other one that is good is nodrop and no socket.

From what I know anyway.

There are staffs out there that a lot of people haven't discovered yet. I know of atleast one unique one that is almost always there that is no drop and great avg dmg, and there are other added perks to this staff as well.

also those 2 factors depend on class and a few other factors. for example why does an invoker need 20 avg dmg, and why does a powergrip warrior need no-drop. Just some things to think about, but generally speaking as a melee you are correct, however, i was speaking in terms of an invoker. Staffs that are no-remove or have the ability to be no-remove.

I can think of at least two for every align that any combo can hold, and a third for combos with higher strength.

Well please pm me with this info

Retribution

You forgot the frigid staff (good for an invoker).

The rod of domination (good for melee and invoker).

Then there is the staff of aquatic souls and the nexus/knight weapons.

I just popped off four socketed over 20 avg dam.

Frigid is socketed buyt terrible avg dam

Souls is usable as vuln for dwarf/duergar and is droppable, disarmable, and breakable.
