Warmaster versus shaman

Here are a few things to consider:

  • Shaman can only go mysterum

I think we can all agree that Mysterum is the lesser of the two sub cabals and contributes to the difficulties perceived in this matchup.

  • Would allowing them into Temporum be good or bad? Hard to say but none the less it is a factor in the matchup.

Warmaster have access to a way to cure dysentry

  • A warmaster can cure their dysentry while a non-warmaster can't (Yes, I'm aware of fringe cases but in general the statement is true)
  • So this is an added hurdle that is unique to the shaman vs warmaster matchup that dysentry becomes a pre-requisite to landing further mals that can't be cured by consumables.
  • Removing cure dysentry herb is a possible solution so that it reverts to being the same as every other matchup for the shaman.

Dysentry itself is not as deadly as it used to be

  • Drinking milk can effectively nullify the point of Dysentry, I'd say this is an oversight and should be looked into.

Warmaster can cure other shaman mals better than non-warmaster

  • Compared to a non-warmaster, the warmaster has access to ways to auto-cure some mals and an array of consumables to combat mals.
  • Is it by design that warmaster get an advantage vs maledictive spells? Modifying anything to do with their consumables will impact their matchups vs necros/dks/evil clerics as well so it's a harder case to address.

So given the above information, personally this is how I'd approach it (If it was deemed that shamans do infact need a leg up vs wm):

  • Address the milk/dysentry situation.
  • Allow shamans to join Temporum.
  • Put a cooldown on the cure dysentry herb.

What this will do is allow a one time get out of jail free card for the wm, after which the shaman can continue their normal rotation of spells.

Shamans in Temporum? Hell naw. lvl 51 spells coupled with age? Nope.

As far as the consumables. If you land blind and dysentery together, they cant cure either one. Can't eat the eyes to see the herb to smoke. Only way around is to run to cabal healer and be lagged. Shaman can just land blind again and go for the other mals while the lag is still going.

Shamans in temporum is not more powerful than Lich, or Necromancer. Not even close lol.

Secondly that isn't true, because WM eq autocures mals. So even if you do land the right combination of mals, they can still RNG right out of it. It doesn't mean it is guaranteed to happen, but with how long a shaman needs to be in a fight to actually win it, there are going to be a lot of ticks. So when fighting a necro, not exactly gonna be a guarantee because of how quickly those fights can be over. Versus a shaman? It is almost a guarantee you are gonna have it proc because shamans kill slower than anything in the game by a long shot.

Temporal storm still has huge anti-synergi with a lot of mals; it both reduces the duration (and thus damage from) of your mals, and your mals make it so your enemy takes no on-tick damage from temporal storm.

Mysterum really could benefit from a slight revamp. Some sort of caster buff (hitgain, managain, extra hp/mana/ac, etc), or a charmie (Tarako mentioned a familiar a while back, that would be super cool), a defensive option that literally doesn't blow them up, etc. These are just the most basic suggestions and with some brainstorming they could be given interesting and unique abilities that don't make them feel like a non-choice for Savants.

Repeatable quests around the lands.  Some don't give that much while others give a ton.  I don't even try to repeat the quests.  I just go about normally completely them.

Imma need you to let me know about those repeatable quests, I'm behind the eight ball on this one.

For 5% of your soul per quest, I would be happy to.

Done, I've sold parts of it for far worse.

Temporal Storm is probably the best spell in the game for a mage.  I said it.

It really isn't. You give me a choice between temp storm, and chrono shield I will never on any mage not take chrono shield.
