Lag Attack Compounding

Only answer to that is:

Only play Protective shield classes. I know that I do. Well... half the time.

What is balanced about warriors? They focus almost totally on autoattacks in combat... their commands are just there to make life slightly harder on the person getting melee'd. I don't personally care what anyone says... if you get laglocked for your entire HP... it was your fault. You did something wrong... hate to break it to you. Short of a cabal skill... you should next to NEVER get lag locked. I mean... is it unfair a shaman can make a character COMPLETELY unplayable until you die? Is it fair a voker can nuke you into cinders in a matter of seconds? It isn't about fair... you think the Rangers and Giants are going to sit down at talk about playing a 'balanced' game tonight. They are going to try to impose their will on the encounter. If you got your will enslaved under an apparently better prepared will...then it sucks to be you.

Actually, I would like it if enlarge was pointless for anything already giant sized. That alone would help knock off some of the lag issue. And those venom sacs don't last very long, so, it's not like they're OP.

That comparison is flawed. You can stack up saves to fight of Shamans and Invokers.

A shaman becomes a kitten the moment you get 70 Mal saves.

And 70 Aff spells means that you save practically all of the Invoker spells.

All of winch is not difficult to attain.

On contrary to prevent Bash you only have AC, which is hard to get and has a very smaller impact in bash.

A shaman becomes a kitten the moment you get 70 Mal saves.

To a shaman, saves mean nothing but a few extra rounds of fighting/healing.

This thread is starting to get really hilarious.

First someone says how easy it is to obtain 70 mal saves.

Then someone says how easy it is for a saman to overcome them.

Ahh now I see the point of this thread! We need to buff Shamans and Invokers to go through saves more than they currently do.

On a serious note, fine I'll look into this. Let's examine the classes and lag lock.

Warrior: If you're playing a small warrior it's most likely dwarf/halfling and you're attempting to be a mage killer. A physical melee is your weakness in this case, enlarge and trip them since most likely they'll be enlarged also.

Monk: Has defenses against lag, use the right form also.

Berserker: Same case as warriors.

Ranger: Capable of camoflauge, herb healing, pets for damage, shooting from a distance. With equipment on the same level and prepared a ranger's damage is high enough that a warrior shouldn't want to stay in the room only bashing.

Blademaster: Has defenses against lag.

Ninja: Hide, assassinate... this class isn't mean for open combat (yes it can be done) but it's not designed for it. If you're bashlocked and dead it should only be because you missed the assassination.

Thief: I always see the thief as the stalker going for the weak. A prepped warrior going through town will at the most get 1 or 2 items pryed by me. I'm not about to attempt it.

Battlemage: has protections against lag

Invoker: Has protections

Cleric: Has protections

Healer: Has protections

Shaman: Has protections

Necromancer: has protections

Dark-Knight: Enlarge, should have a lagging charmie. Magic strike. This will break the lag lock and also allow him to attempt his own, flee, cast.

Paladin: Has defenses against lag, sure it's not perfect but it's there. Magic strike is there... not too useful.

Bard: The only class I believe suffers greatly. They don't have the quick skill of a ninja, the prep ability of a thief... Bards are in need of some type of defense against laglock, maybe enhance brawl so that they move in town so obstacles or other people are in the way of a bash/bodyslam.

It's easy to get 70 mal at 50. The rare eq in question is nothing out of ordinary.

Viri even posted a list to prove this.

With things like Kesrick Helm, Decorated Arm bands,Emerald Bracers, plagueward rings and other stuff giving 5 or more Mal saves.

All those mal saves add up to one bash lagged Croyvern. Back on topic or let it die.

Really man if your having trouble with enlarged lag, then enlarge yourself, and buff that AC a bit. If I can get fire giants to 300 ac without being godly decked, you can get ac up there I promise. I did an elf warrior who was constantly around 400, and he was never in anything amazing.

I have no idea how you manage that. I just had half my armor enchanted too.. And I only hit around -350 (before buffs, I suppose with armor 20, shield 20, stone skin 40, flesh armor 40, it would be a bit better.) Hrmm I might look into that.

Flesh armor is 20 really

sigh Kids and their buffs these days.

When -I- was young, we'd run in with mithril and practice weapons trying to kill each other at 50.

And that was why people like Goliath and Onilon raped half the Player base.

I still remenber the threads in forun 54.

Q:"Should I master Hand to Hand?"

A:"If you like, never know when you get dirt disarmed and end up punching them to death."

Get Amrour Shied Stoneskin and Flesh and you get 100 AC buff.

Now, to have -70 svsmaled and on a meelee have hit/dam to allow you to do anything to a shaman is hilarity. Yes, this thread is definitely a joke.

Honestly, I found the sweet spot at around -30-35 svs maled with ~45hit/dam (slith warrior, not giant sized). I did alot of fighting very competent shamans back in the day. Louchy had about 70 hit/dam but I had a seriously uphill battle vs shamans.
