hello.
apparantly a few people are very happy of bountying me, and seeing as I am not that strong - and me and Philly share timezone somewhat - i get collected - a lot! i even think phily has pity for me, but being in the cabal and yadda yadda.
now maybe you could do it so either you had to place higher and higher bounties on a character the more he was collected (or the stronger he was maybe)
bounty cp 50 is just silly to make a vampire go after a strong character (not me in this case).
or make the delay before you can replace bounties on a character because I am losing maybe 2 lives per day - and im really trying to avoid death (and my character is not THAT weak).
i think I have been collected more than 20 times. I cant really avoid fighting philly because we are very often the only one in the range online, and before him it was kurvikhel (grumble).
edit: maybe make some cabals unable to bounty people - like the knights?
Trust me, cp's aren't silly.
i meant its extremely easy just to place 50 cps on a character. I could keep the whole playerbase bountied all the time just by using cp.
If you are evil I see no reason for a knight not to bounty you.

Bing! Sheriff's in the old west would bounty people all the time. So would Kings in Medieval times.
knights are not sheriffs, tribunals are, and they are free to bounty. I cannot see knights using vampires to fight evil, theyre more like the we do it the glorious way types. but that was not the primary point of the topic.
I know it's not the point of the topic...I'm just in an odd mood.....not really sure I take any posts on the forums seriously anymore.
Sorry.
There is a timer on being repeatedly bountied.
It lasts quite a while.
I also agree the minimum bounty should be increased.
50 cps is less than the cps used to collect most bounties--especially when you consider that the Syndicate (cabal, not the collector) takes a sizable cut of that bounty too.
Most bounties aren't very motivating and are uneconomical to collect, but the imms push the collection, so it is done.
also it feels a little silly that - for example kurvikhel who were friends with my character, would throw himself into battles that two times left him in shock, to collect either 50 cp or a battlemasters blade or something like that.

its too short, I have been collected roughly once each day. (or at least rebountied), so its at most 24 hours or so.
Bounty time seems fine.....
Maybe we could remove items from being used as bounties? That always seemed kinda silly to me. This would also free it up so that the Leader of Syndicate could set the gold/cp prices as they saw fit.
However, there would have to be a certain quota that would need to be met or Greed itself would take over and the default bounty placing settings would go back in...hmmmm....
Hrmm.... I believe any Elder/Leader of Syndi can refuse a bounty which is priced too low... but not many people get E/L at all to do so, so take that as you will.
My question is, who did you anger to get re-bountied all the time? I understand that if you are in a full suit of rares that yes, you will be bountied continuously by lvl 20 somethings who are drooling over your stuff, (I did this all the time on one of my no-named thieves, stealing something from somebody and using it to place bounties on nearly everyone
)
As far as Knights placing bounties, it's a cabal issue which, when Raargant imm'd it, was strictly forbidden. I mean really, how could a bunch of pompous righteous people sink so low as to pay a bunch of killers, torturers, and kidnappers to well... kill, torture, and kidnap. If you can RP it IG and make it make sense in any form, it can work, but be aware of the Father if he decides to use a little "religious discretion" on you...
A lot of people place bounties just to see if Kaylia is around.
If your character is a friend with the bounty hunter but has a bounty, then he will most likely place a bounty on someone else available so the hunter has an excuse not to attack his friend. Same goes if the character in question is a bit stronger. The bounty hunter will always prefer to go after the weaker bounty.

One last post before I'm off to the oral surgeon....
I CALL SHENANIGANS ON THAT WHOLE POST!
Bounty Hunter damn well better go collect on his friend AND the other guy! Get every bounty you can! Syndicates have no friends, only allies. And that's if someone doesn't P.O. Nexus into a vendetta...yes, I'll never forgive you for that, L-A. Never. I don't care how many years go bye, I'll never forget that.
From Help bounty2:
The following rules apply to bounties and limited items.
-
Only up to 5 limited items may be placed in bids
-
The victim must be higher in rank the 40 OR in a cabal
-
You will only receive victim's limited items if you
are of rank 40 or higher.
So, no, a rank 20 won't get any rares by placing bounties.
As to the Syndicate, usually they are required to go after all contracts available, any specifics are up to their current cabal Imm.
If a Knight is putting a bounty on you, send a note to Knight and Immortal.
In my times, this was an offense punished with expulsion.
Talk to the Syndicate. Bribe him to buy you time. Or ask for a price to buy your Bounty. Roleplay, use your head.
If he is killing you that many time he will surely accept your proposal out of boredom.
And back to Vacations.
some people just bounty everyone who is on, so they can get their rares when the more pk efficent syndicate takes them down.

This is very true and quite a problem I think. Perhaps the person who places the bounty should not get rares but instead get the head.

This might not work so well anymore. The syndicate is now very limited in how much of this kind of RP it can do. Like Eshaine just said:

Isn't this an OOC exploit?

I strongly agree about items and moderately agree about being able to set the gold/cp prices.

I think we could solve this problem by requiring it to be a different person to set the next bounty. For example, A bounties B. B is then collected. A must then wait until another person © bounties B. Once B is collected again, A may place a new bounty on B.
Another option would be to make the min. bounty increase. The first time it is 50k. The next time to bounty that person is 100k, and so forth.
