I've killed prepinns. It adds to the excitement of getting to 50. But I do believe there is a better way to do it. One, I offer rp all along the way, two... they usually DO know I'm coming. Three, unless they have outstanding eq, I don't even loot gold. People who get mad at a death like that have a problem, heh. Alot of people argue that would be way too nice, but I reply simply with, who cares. Hehe.

I guess I will chime in. I would never ever ever ever support a ban on Pinns killing non-pinns. IF the IMMs decide to rework the exp system, fine, but never a ban on the aforementioned.
I remember one particular paladin always hanging out in the caverns. Why? Dunno. I could never get any RP out of him. He was there to kill upcoming evils. I use that example because that is true asshattery. Goods by nature should be much more selective about why they kill. That is a fine example of a player trying to roll other people because he/she can. That's crap. Knock it off.
All of these issues would be resolved if we all put RP before PK. Don't tell me your PK is your RP because NO it is not. You are a bloodthirsty monster? OK. Why? Did your mom not hold you enough? Did you dad sneak into your room at night? This isn't rocket science. RP first. PK later. I am certainly not implying that you need to explain every kill but at some point you need to do more than talk with the business end of your sword. This hold especially true if you are caballed and pinned fighting an uncabaled/unpinned character. To me you really need reason. With all that said I have zero problem with it so long as their is RP behind it. Trolling an area simply to pick off the little fellas is just silly. If I were an IMM and I saw the same character doing this over and over again they would get nerfed, especially if there are other pinns to fight.
End of transmission.
I don't want to start this off with 'you all have it easier now...' but, well, you do. While I didn't live it, I've been told that when dysentry took xp on kill (which wasn't so long ago) it was a staple tactic to use it to kill pre-pinns to make their ranking harder. This is just one way its a bit easier than it used to be.
To be honest, what happened isn't underhanded or even unusal. Once you have that red next to your name you're fair game. Personally, I believe that's how it should be. XP penalties exists to penalise for what will be a race/class with bonuses at lvl 50 (compared to a lower XP pen).
Have any of you who don't like the situation ever considered taking the +xp ranking perk? Or are you too much of a 'power gamer' to do that? You get through a LOT faster - believe me. I've taken a human warrior on that perk, ranking is easy.
As for those 'special' souls who sit in ranking areas picking off lowbies doing nothing but trying to progress, well, many's the time I've parked my decked lvl 50 two area's from a ranking zone and waited. Sometimes its almost too easy since they come expecting a few beat up pre-pinns and cop a fully prep'd (maybe caballed) lvl 50. Even worse is the next death they take when they reappear to attack the pre-pinns who I gave all their shinies too. THANKS FOR COMING!!!

Man I remember the days of summoning the red dragon to Central Square in Val to thrash some trash talking lowbie... sigh And you people are complaining about people in your pk range hunting you? Bounty them, hire another pinn to kill them, get a pinn in your ranking group to kill them, get a group of three lvl 45ish to kill them, whatever. If they are mutilkilling you then perhaps there is an issue and take it to the prayer forum. Otherwise...yeah...
Easier now? Heh. For those who werent aware the original code we wrote for CF allowed charm person to be used on Characters. We bitch when a vampire makes us all smiley, you should have heard the paladins yell when some dk charmed them and made them kill a good creature. Talk about experience attacks. So from the runny under done egg to the finely cooked turkey, I believe we have come very very far in the last ten years. Kudos to the hard working staff.
And back in the day, women didn't have the right to vote. Hell, they were property at one point. Same with black people. Now that those aren't the case, it's all cool, still. Women get paid the same as men, racism doesn't exist. You all are totally right. Everyone should be grateful they get multi killed before 50 and end up deleting, there was time when it was worse. They'd lose exp, too.

I believe I covered the whole if they are multi killing you thing. And multi killing is legal above lvl 40, why is this? I don't do it, but it is perfectly legal. Should this be changed to 50? Maybe, maybe not. I think it's fine the way it is. People get way too worked up over a death or two around here. How many people honestly con death their characters? I mean seriously. You get SIXTY ONE deaths. Yes you are supposed to care about them IN CHARACTER, not Out Of Character. I think this is a distinction people have lost a long time ago.
Yes, there was a time when I too would delete a pinned, fully trained, character after a single death wether it was to a mob or a player. But my favorite characters (and the ones I've had the most kills on, heh) have been the ones that I stuck with even when they got rolled due to me being stupid and taking a death, maybe even dying before I got to 50. I'll admit, pre-50 deaths still irk me a bit.
And the whole caring more about loosing ones gear than ones life thing is one of the things I think is killing the pk in this game. I know the staff is working on a eq rebalance, and I am glad of it, though I think it wouldn't be as neccessary for them to do so if people weren't so obsessed with it. You can loose everything you own when you die because in the long run eq isn't supposed to matter as much as skill. I don't have a current pinn, and havn't been in the game for a while so I cannot say this for sure, but I doubt that eq has truely overshadowed skill to such a degree that things like Life Insurance are actually neccessary. If they are, than the eq rebalance cannot come soon enough, and as soon as it does, LI needs to be removed completly.
Hell nowdays I don't think you can loose xp to a mob death if you try to. I've gotten several different characters of mine that I have been experimenting with lately killed trying stuff out and not one of them lost xp. Add to this the fact that you can take the adventurer perk, the adventurer class, and guild quests, the new training system, and spells give you xp... It's easier to get to 50 these days than it ever has been.
Maybe if people would worry less about what their pk ratio looked like (which players cannot see for a reason) and focused more on living in the world of Aabahran (yes that means RP as well) we would all have a better game to play.
