Ah, I forgot about the caltraps flying fix. I still say -5 str from nerve is really buff.
Yes his vuln was covered but even if it wasn't I believe he still would have won. It was a pretty quick battle but I believe he won with more than 50% hp. It was sad. I'll also admit that as a player if I knew as much as I do now back then, I would not have lost.
I consider 75% of current players to have the skill the despiser I knew had.
I actually had a by far positive kill to death ratio against him. He wasn't that godlike. He was a big player of the power combo game though. Almost anything he rolled was a power combo, he knew what to pick and why.
You know what? How about we do not take cheap shots at or brag about a player who is not around to defend himself?
He also got a lot better since 2.0. He wasn't a 1.0 player, so in 2.0 he was still learning, whereas a lot of people were already at their peak.
I don't know anything firsthand about despiser. D:
Only thing I remember ever at all, was Martinieus telling me to sheath, and I looked at him and did it. o.o

The -5 str can be. But surely a player of your caliber would've prepared for this beforehand right? Weren't you in adeptus most of the time anyway?
Let's not fprget abut Dale, he is a beast.
You sure Despiser wasn't around in 1.0? I remember asking him questions over AIM. I was here well at the beginning of 1.0, how did he already know more than me if he was new in 2.0?
Hell i'm 3.0 anyway - i started after Dey! I'm just going on what i remember despiser posting in the past about his first characters.

They called him Despiser because he really loved puppies.. and killed a lot, and I mean a lot, of people. His Role play was impeccable, and he always made sure is zipper was up. He had a way with the game, as if... it was made just for him. One might say he was the one, the Neo, if you will, of FL. This guy could fly without flight potions, he would cast lightning bolts from his butt... while playing a thief. This guy could get all the women, but didn't need to... he had the one he wanted all along... Princess Leia.
Why did he leave? No one will say, except for me right now... and everyone who said it before me. A buncha people kept screaming about how the only reason he was good was because he played power combos, and that if it weren't for that he would never have been able to kill them. When... in fact, 99% of these people played the same combos. They told him his RP was shiat... when theirs wasn't any better. But, you know what they say, judge first lest ye be judged firster. In fact... he left because we're a right bunch of jackasses.
I miss the guy, he was a bastion of temperance and knowledge on the forums as near as I can recall. We're worse off with out him, and I'll live and die by the sword of my convictions regarding that statement.

You almost made me cry a-g.
I'd imagine a thicker skin for a man that is the hat of the Balkan Peninsula. Don't watch
, I cried like a baby.

Yeah, righty-o, I don't know how that was a cheap shot though. Seemed like a compliment to me.
Anyway, reading A-G's post, it appears that very comment I made was the reason he left. He left well after I did, so I had no idea of this. We'll, I meant no foul by it. Despiser didn't worry me too much, we had our personal conflicts but nothing serious.
I was just noting that a ninja of his was able to meelee with the best of meelee.
Well, I am out out, I have said all I've wanted to say about the topic, unless further information arises. I refuse to get myself into personal vendettas with people over the sake of a damn game. I have well and truely learnt from my mistakes.
Despiser is the only person I have EVER encountered in game who has ever really scared the **** out of me. I was PETRIFIED of Narnokles, and as my first drow invoker I killed an ogre who tried to jump my hunting party, the slith blm I was with got DECKED, I got some nice crap as well. Turns out the Ring of Abyss I got was Marti's and the ogre had gained it from him. Marti rped with me, and I was scared of him and gave him the ring of abyss
The thing with Martinius... I never really said yes... but I never really said no, either... does that make him evil or me easy?

No one should be complaining about Archer Rangers, when they shoot they have a two ticks lag, within that time you could easily EASILY scan, head in that direction and get'em before they move.
I can see why people get angry at ninjas, but to me, it's just another reason why not to hang around in the cities. That Elf Ninja that gave birth, she seemt to get a decent amount of study on me real quick, alot of the time she'd strangle me unexpectly and just study me for those few hours. One of my pet peeves is when a cabal'd ninja defends his home by studying you, that's horse ****.
Despiser was cool, when I first started he was playing Cariousus I think. I always liked his RP, and I like having a beef characters walking around to.
FL is pretty big, too big for it's player base at the moment, so it wasn't a MAJOR concern having him lerk, but it certainly had me hitting "where" every few seconds. But IMO the player that played Pruricant was way more scarier. Despiser just had cooler RP, check it out on the Serenial and Aerandel scene of the rp logs.
Archer rangers actually have 1 tick of lag (with rapid fire). Not to mention that if they get brought into battle, like fleeing and then entering the room again, they will get the usual 2 ticks of combat and will fire TWICE.
Not that I am complaining, just mentioning.
I played a ranger to level 38, and rage deleted last night because of how boring they are, and some nub killed me.
what can they do as a archer in combat? dirt, disarm? maybe throw a thunderstorm in? insect swarm? change around weaponary a little? which class can't do that?
IMO most boring class. Blademasters have 15+ different things with different effects that could use in combat, necros, shamans invokers, all have 20+ spells they could use. Non cabal'd rangers, 3-4 skills, Woooooo, exciting.
I didn't get to rapid fire, I couldn't bring myself to play such a boring class to level 40.
Then just run away like a and camo when you can't win, as a class with prolly the second best melee output in the game, and healing.
I gimped my character in PK, refused to use pets in pk.
But still, it's boring as reading 80% of a-g confusing posts.
