new armor, GOD armor.

Anyway, what if we expanded the mithrill armor set at 50 ?

1/3 of my armor at 50 is still mithril because lets face it unrare armor at 50 is worse than mithril.

It is even worse to evils because the tainted/dragon eq is a Pain to wear.

But since i dont like evil i wont argue for it.

So back on mithril, it would be nice if there was a kind of golem with a basic set, that was best than mithrill. Not talking about uber stuff. Just add one armor to basic bash slash pierce and cover a bit more of magic armor. Or add one extra save, or convert one of Mal saves to spell save. Nothing overpowering.

Because as it is now, its just sily.

For example i go to the Champion and request his armor, and go "UBER high level armor must be realy good" and then id and go "Im selling this crap!".

Or i visit the rank 40 crusader and go "What a cool armor." and then id and go "Bah!!! Back to mithrill."

And this is things you realy have to wait while requesting.

And being a elf its even worse. "Whoo nice weapon." then "And yet another Iron Burn." This is so common with polearms.... at least the rare ones are not iron. Its like Elven Paladins are gimped at 35-45, no decent polearms for you.

I would LOVE to see better non-rare 50 equipment, just to give me a fighting chance against all those people who know where everything and their dog is. I mean, frick, I've been to winter once, got some sweet eq (still nothing compared to other people), then prompt got owned and lost it all. Ugh.

There's actually some decent non-rares out there if you find them. Usually I keep a non-rare equip set in a locker, and I can get to about 30/30 hit/dam not including weapon bonuses.

Agreed. Not just hit/dam too, but you can work up some half-decent saves (not amazing saves, but saves that will help you a good deal) with a good selection of non-rares, especially if you add just one or two select rares in there. With non-rares, you simply have to tailor what you wear much more for each individual person you fight, to some degree.

Dey

fine, then make it not the best armor in the game, just something custom! damnit! it dont have to be an exeptional item, just a custom name!

Again, why?

Pride? As with most anything of value, it must be earned. IMMs reward the willing and able.

The crystalmir caverns have a decent alternative set of non-rare armor for this very reason.

there's no value, it's just an item you name. that's it.

I remember something that they used to do at an old MUD I played. They used to have these festivals' date=' where they would set up in a different town at random intervals (once or twice a real time month, or the like), and you would be able to buy stuff from the vendors. You could buy everything from weapons, to armor, to accessories, and there was always one stand with "restring" tokens. You could purchase a token, and then restring one of your items. I think it would be really neat, if we could do that here.[/quote']

Bartodk and Luqin did something similar to that.. They had a festival in Rheydin, and Luqin auctioned off armor and everything to raise money for Rheydin.

Want an item you can name? Make a DK. Or apply and become a crusader. You usually don't get too much choice on an IMM given item. But use the opportunity to stand out and make a name for yourself. RP can be as hard, and sometimes, harder than PK. You have to work at it. Solid RP is what sets FL apart from more hackandslash games. Awesome RP is what sets you apart from other characters, as can awesome PK. Awesome RP combined with awesome PK is what will set you apart from other players.

And thus was born, the Chayesh Doctrine.

eh.. i'll stick to the bible.

If you talking about the Military old red guy now not so red , he only has two pieces of decent eq, the bracers, one of the best and his cool named weapon.

All other stuff you are better of with mithrill/manhthor.

Suit yourself

BAHAHAHA! Was that an intentional pun?

Yes..

What is a "pun" ?

A play on words.

For example, if I were to say after a funeral, "Damn! That undertaker made her look drop dead gorgeous," that would be a pun.

The ideal nonrare suit at 50 for hr/dr has no pieces of mithril. I know, I i've spent years learning FL's eq.

Mya, you either have no eq knowledge or don't know what makes eq good. :-p

Mithril is not the end all be all of eq. It is decent, nothing more...

Your problem is that you are making it a HIT/Dam armor.

I dont like pure hit dam armor, its suicide as a communer.

If you are after a balanced non rare armor it goes down to Mithril.

Sure there are better saves non rare armor, and better Hit/dam armor.

But there is not better balanced armor. Sure there is better rare balanced armor, but that is rate.

People need to start looking at hp modifiers as an equipment factor. An extra 250 hp isn't too shabby for a caster/communer, especially if you get some decent saves with it.
