Easter Madness

eh? eh?

eeeehh???

eeeeehhhhh?

Do I really have to eh again...I mean I'm not canadian?

Have a madness and I guarantee I will pull at least 20 people from RL/other muds and FORCE them to log on.

Word, DO IT TO IT!!!

Please?!?!

I have yet to witness such an event.

Is that not reason enough?

What is easter madness?

There was a little 'sesh' called Halloween Madness that was on, well, Halloween. It basically meant the Imm's backing up the playerfiles and then for that one day, you could make any character (barring qrace/qclass and the other ones) and have them ranked straight to fifty with all spells/skills learnt. Armour and weaponry would spew out at random locations that were quite strong, and then basically it was an all out, FFA PK fest. Last Halloween madness that was on the Imms organised a capture the flag tournament. Fun fun.

You're mostly right. You could still do a healer, shaman, or druid (qclass) by quickranking to 30, doing your thing, then finishing the quickranking.

Yea, you could - it's just that when the last Halloween Madness was running (not last Halloween, the one before) I didn't know how to go healer/shaman/druid. :o

I just meant the typical Undead/Demon/Avatar/Sader and Cabals and so on. No chance of getting those, unless the Immortals wanted to grant special things to a certain player. I think a great scenario would be making one player godly, and then having the rest of the players have to try and kill him/her. Whoever strikes the winning blow, becomes the godly one. I think it would be wild..

Dey

jesus is mad that you even suggest such a thing, he told me

Yea, but you can imagine it though. A roaming powerhouse of monolithic proportions, orchestrating sessions of pain upon any poor souls who happen to cross it's path. The citizens of Aabahran must unite to defeat this seemingly immortal titan and work as a team to restore peace to the lands. Our new group of friends manage to bring the gigantic beast to nothing but a gibbering wreck.but...what ho! Prince Chipstick, our heroic fighter who administered the killing blow is now upon a crazed rampage to remove the world's evil! Bands of twisted evil mercenaries, vicious sorcerers and merciless rogues must do the inevitable...lend each other a helping hand, or face eradication at the almost godly hands of this heroic fighter! Two clerics, and invoker, a ninja and a HUGE Ogre berserker decide to do just this. The huge Ogre manages to defeat this Prince with the help of his newly aqquired friends, but turns against them leaving no less than four fresh corpses, and sets about maiming citizens and pillaging cities, leaving destruction in it's wake!

And so on...

Am I the only one who doesn't like these madness days?

yes, you are a-g. On another note. The halloween madness days are great. and allow people to play characters they would not normally do. I am gonna throw this idea up and watch every admin/imm on fl go UGGGGG! Why not have the monthly, or even quarterly. As I know everyone loves them, very enjoyable experiences and lets newer players get a feel for which race/class they are best with. I realize thats a very extreme suggestion. But I think it would go over GREAT with the p-base.

Emp_newb, show me why Im the emporer of newbs.

I don't know, I think they'd kind of lose novelty value if they were too often. I don't think the Madness days are a given thing to expect and I like it like that. I always thought that they were something that was decided on by the Imm's for whenever they feel like it (if they felt like it) rather than a set-in-stone annual thing. It's cool when you just log onto the forums one day, and you say a whapping great post from the imms: "SOMETHING" MADNESS.

Nope, you're not.

It does tend to take away from those who do rank a multitude of characters to 50, just to see what is what. But on the other hand, not everyone can rank a billion warriors to see what lores do, and a million clerics to see what DI's do, or a couple hundred thousand rangers to see what ranger paths do, or even a few hundred ninjas or berserkers to experiment with the different paths and ninjitsus. Not to mention the gazzillion thief trap combinations.

So, yeah, there are always two sides to everything. It does get quite chaotic at times, and can be fun. I do remember the year Justice decided to put everyone in jail, and that kind of spoiled people's fun.

"Lets roll up an invoker and fire-storm the central square."

Im with you, never really liked em

They pretty much rock my face off.

Nope, you're not.

Was great the first time, now the novelty of having 50's has worn off. I'm plenty happy just playing my regular crappy characters on a day to day basis.

I feel its time I could be investing in one of my actual characters wasted.

I say you want to have some fun on holidays, do things like an easter egg hunt, or allow players to go trick or treating at the various shops in teh towns, or any number of things with current characters that would be fun, but not long lasting. But thats just how I feel. Madness is after all a tradition, and I am a fan of tradition. So I'll just be grumpy on not play those days.
