Rank time.

Damn it, stop locking threads when people are still making contributions to the discussion.

@Kyzarius

Do you see what I'm saying? If you have them level faster, then they aren't going to learn anything, but they will be in a tougher spot because the game as well as players are going to be less forgiving.

How do you appease both worlds?

yeah no shit, what the hell is wrong with you guys, its like hall monitors gone wild here.

@Fireman yeah but comeon what do you really learn pre 30 in this game?

Well, if you follow the guild quests you learn where to buy all your supplies, what sanctuary is and where to get it, as well as a few other important aspects.

I think we could benefit from an additional quest added into the guild questline that shows you how to get to ranking areas and which areas/shops will supply you with information on what pets are and what they can do. Is that a decent idea? I don't know, let's build off it or change it up, what do you think?

Well then behave.

This thread goes down the same line the other did I'll just ban you all from posting.

true, but that only gets you to what...10 maybe? then kicks you off to a leveling zone and has you hitting mobs.  Well only if your a goodie.   Which you usually reach oozes before you can kill them.

So, at level 10 you'll have an alsatian and a stone golem, if we have the quest tell you where to get it. What more do you need as a caster? That's more than enough firepower to deal with an ooze.

Additionally, the guild quests ARE available and would teach them where mobs and areas are in the process of leveling.

yeah ban your most active players for discussing the game.

  1. nobody called anybody names

  2. nobody is insulting anyone.

  3. people are legitimately trying to improve the game.

there was not one single violation of the forum rules in that previous thread.

alsatian though is vet knowledge.

there are long term players even now who dont know about that one.

lmao did we really just get hit with the ruler for having a constructive discussion amongst veterans? what a joke lmao

That's why I suggested adding in a quest to the guild questline that tells you where to get pets and what they are.

@Fireman  PM me or something with your C/C times since apparently we aren't grown up enough to use the forum lol  foxx, you too

manual labor, if you can rank a C/C to 20 in under 40 minutes instead of just saying you can, i'd love to see the proof.  I think you are just talking hypothetically.

Im done.

You can all do whatever you like.

I'll post it here for public knowledge when I have dedicated time to sit down and do it. We're about to get pretty busy here at the station so I won't be able to respond.

Also, don't antagonize @Ulmusdorn. Its not gonna help.

that would be productive, you would need to up the gold, i think.

There is a LOT of assumed knowledge in those first ranks.

If we listed off what would be considered key pointers, perhaps we could work to massage those quests a bit.

We appreciate you doing your job, but it makes it difficult when the ruler is applied so strictly. Flaming, flame-baiting, rudeness, etc. then I'm on your side.

This is what i was suggesting in one of the other threads that go locked...

The current quest line is decent - but it drops people out way to early given the lack of playerbase sitting around at low levels to assist new players.

Expand the newbie questline to introduce pets - have a look at pets available as well IMO - so that we aren't just talking about the Alsatian -  an overhaul of the pet shop in Maelbrim that gives viable options all the way through to level 30 would be a good idea IMO.

Then expand the 'secondary' quest lines - think MMO style where the last quest in one area gives you a quest to report to someone in the next leveling area - who then gives you 5 - 6 quests in that area.  I know this would be a lot of work to produce all the way to level 50 - but if we broke it up and wrote it piece by piece it becomes more manageable - and would really enhance the newbie levelling experience IMO.

It's a good idea, but that is a lot of work for an already overworked Staff. Overtime it could be possible, I don't want to say what they are capable of doing and when.

  1. add a quest that leads you to Alsatian.  Another guild quest that leads to Gharnizon perhaps?
  2. we already lead you to a basic weapon, maybe lead to a slightly better one?
  3. an herb gathering quest would be divine, lead people to some of the basic herbs.
  4. the leading people from one leveling area to the other would be awesome.

Just make me IMM, that would solve everything imo.  And I promise not to go around threatening people on the forum calling you children like an insecure 50yo school teacher.

there are two different discussions going on here...

  1. is the game easy for noobies? The answer is no, and this is true of any race class combination.

If you are new and cannot do guild quests, cannot buy pets, you also presumably dont know where to get decent armor/weapons, then you are having a very bad time early on regardless. This is not just true for CCs as Kyzarius makes it seem

  1. Is there a significant gap in speed between leveling CCs vs Melees. I contend that there is not a significant gap.

I would go as far as to say that the primary difference in leveling speed is experience penalty, I think race/class plays almost no role in it. Really the challenge should be to get to 40. Once at 40 the Pinns will be lined up for the free RP and help you to 50, at that point your race class is not gonna affect the climb as much as who your leveling partners are.

@egreir I have no desire to play this game but perhaps I will make a disposable CC and get to 20 really fast just to show you I am not talking out my butt.
