RP... To The Death!

New command - Rpdeath. Requires 2 players against each other and a minimum of 3 others looking on.

Player 1 input: Rpdeath Player 2.

Player 2 sees: "Player 1 has challenged you to a battle of wits!"

Player 2 input: Rpdeath accept

Player 1 and Player 2 both have a chance to enter 15 inputs each, including emotes, smotes, says, and yells.

Players 3 - 5 see: You will determine the fate of the challengers!

After each player has input 15 roleplay commands, those watching (players 3 -5 in this example) see:

You have a selection to make.

Player 3 inputs: Select player 1

Player 4 inputs: Select player 2

Player 5 inputs: Select player 1

Player 1's tone and diction DOES SPEAKABLE THINGS to player 2.

Player 1 sees: Player 2 kneels before you! Do you wish to spare him, or destroy him?

Player 1 then has the option to kill player 2. However, this will be a unique scenario wherein Player 2 may be killed by Player 1's command, but while kneeling still has full health and mana to prevent execution by the judges. If player 1 chooses to spare player 2, then player 2 stands. If player 1 destroys player 2, then players 1, 3, 4, and 5 can now loot the corpse of player 2.

The key points here are that each player must voluntarily enter an rpdeath session. Since it is voluntary, each player must personally insure that impartial judges are present to judge the battle. Only those present in the room at declaration of rpdeath challenge may judge the session. The consequences of Rpdeath challenge can be very serious.

If the rpdeath command is successful, it may be expanded to team rpdeath wherein teams are formed and each team must operate within 50 to 100 rp commands total.

This idea is so awesome. +1.

:in the distance can be heard a crazed man espousing the virtues of Volgathras 5:27:

This... I would so dominate. >:3

LoL

Since this is an RP and PK mud, this gives a chance to hardcore RP's to use RP to achieve decisive victory over an opponent, and reap the rewards of doing so.

Hmm yes... This would be a neat aspect.

Yes, let's reduce RP to a certain number of emotes and essentially turn it into a PK-mechanic...

Frankly, I think it's a horrible idea.

here's the thing, the playerbase is not mature enough to voluntarily lose a pk. Which is what needs to happen in a rp'd combat situation. Unless you just plan on using forceful emotes, i.e. Jumps from the shadows and cuts off your head.

Should be done as : Jumps from the shadows and attempts to cut off your head.

But the typical response would be : Using his spidy sense, victim turns around just in time to avoid having thier head cut off, and attempts to impale the attacker.

Which results in more and more outlandish matrix moves, and prolly going ooc you're such a ****ty rp'er, you can't have spidy sense etc.

Edit : Because again, no one here is mature enough to voluntarily 'lose'. Or if a handful of people are, they would end up getting pk'd most of the time, for not resorting to matrix moves, and then it opens a whole new can of worms.

Are you mocking my bullet dodging abilities Bumpin'?

I dont mind loosing pks... I just hate loosing the EQ that took me 3 IRL months to gather.

If someone can kill me, power to them I say.

You rely too much on eq, Aulian.

You're right. I enjoy winning too much and putting the knowledge I've pain stakingly drawn from these lands over 10 years to good use.

Meh. PK is PK, RP is RP. Unless someone is RPing their OWN death i.e. Orealt, you're not going to find people to jump on the train.

It's kinda weird for me. I'll get a god suit and get totally wrecked, lose it all, and come back with basics and do fantastic. My tactics, for some reason, change depending on my gear. If I am decked I am WAY too cocky and get rolled. If in crap, I play way smarter because I have to.

Play smarter all the time?

You'd think that'd work, but apparently not lol.

RP and PK are NOT seperate. Anyone who says that killing people in FL is not Roleplaying in FL, does not understand the definition of Roleplay.

But WHY do you attack me without saying a word before doing it?!

No RP I tell you...

But WHY do you attack me without saying a word before doing it?!

If I have a(n IG) reason, I'm not going to warn you. Element of suprise.

The guy who visited me with a knife didn't tell me "Hey, soon I'm gona steal your pills. Get ready." No. He just came in, looted, and left. How unfair.

The world of FL is full of insane bastards who kill you before they loot your pills. Expectable enough, they use the element of suprise as far as possible, since the victim is going to have a chance for revenge, regardless of death. Expectable enough, the victim is going to try that revenge - unless intimidated enough by the first assault (or the combination being utterly against the victim).

But for goodies assaulting evils "without a warning" (those they've really never met or heard anything about), that's pure racism. (Example 1: think of outcast wannabe drow. Example 2: there's lots of darklings with evil heart who never "plague" the world with their taint, thus paladin bothering to harass such a person with violence is just being a jackass (if you're RPing a jackass paladin, then it's cool)(paladin here is just an example)) Different being, if the character knows the darkling thru some way. Although, certain situations (like Nexus membership) are exceptions.
