Wow, want us to make a bashproof room for you to so you can dodge cheap pk's too? Justifying them being the way they are by the fact that you can dodge a class is just sad.
Cabal guards who Push or are not Aggro.
If you can't kill someone who sits behind a cabal guard (and you're not and able to regen) then that is not the fault of a mechanic but the fault of you.
Not just that but there is a penalty for sitting in the room of the guard' date=' which is more than enough.[/quote']. ^ and this.

not the ones who are good at it..you ride in get dirted immediatly, then cant target them. Some classes can do rudimentary damage, BLM's, Zerks, Riposte damage but most are just burnt..have to flee
Just tear down the whole cabal like Raargant would do. ![]()

Wow, I didn't know there was penalties for sitting next to your guard and fighting with them when someone comes to take a standard. Pretty much everytime I go to take a standard, I fight the cabal guard and the pc, when someone comes to retrieve thier standard/take mine, I fight alongside the defender as well. I kinda figured the No regen was penalty enough for being in that room.
How in the hell am I supposed to defend my standard when I get steamrolled each and everytime someone comes to take it? Like heh, I was a small road bump, now that you've lost 100 hp and maybe 150 mana, feel free to take my standard unopposed? Let me run away and heal/rest while you take my standard, so I can be ready to retrieve it? I'm seriously confused, in no way intending to be a smartass about this.
This has screwed me a few times. Never knew it was frowned upon. Salith did this ALL the time and was at least Trusted and an Avatar. It is how I got my arse handed to me on Philantees twice. Run in, get dirt kicked, dirt kick clears, he dirt kicks straight away again. No way to retarget. Next thing I am at 50% hp and he is perfect, this is when he proceeds to chase.
Sucks, but after dying twice this way, I just plain refused to fight at his cabal and he started to get an *** whoopin (but deleted before I could get revenge
)
I want to make it clear..
the problem I have is not when someone comes to defend their besieged altar. It is when they run to the altar, then camp there to avoid a fair 1v1 fight with the pursuer. Then they do this EVERYTIME said enemy logs in.
If someone runs past your character and starts wailing on your cabal guard, then hell go at them!
The issue is when the "defender" is pretty much avoiding fighting their enemy by camping at the guard so they can have an tactical advantage. Why join a cabal, if your only going to fight your enemies if they come to your altar and fight you with your cabal guard in front?
interesting. I've still never had a problem with it. Guess you can count my opinion out on grounds of me simply not ever running into that.

^ yeah, this? I must have misunderstood your post Kyz. If they are going to the cabal to "hide" from PK, take it to the forum. I have to admit, like Jibber I have not had to deal with this. I thought you were talking about defending. Not Hiding.
Now if they are RPing a coward maybe the Imms will allow it, otherwise, I bet they would like to know.
Btw' date=' this can only be said by someone who doesn't have much experience at 50
[/quote']
Fine then, Since when is the cabal guard a problem at 50?
That being said, people just need to HTFUP and fight, instead of hiding. pffssht.

It obviously is, since vets are whining about it?
No no one person is. I have to say... I hadnt even CONSIDERED this an issue until today and every character I have ever played has been in a cabal.
In reality if someone is doing that, post it on the forums and they will be handled very quickly. There is a code of play you adhere to when you are in a cabal. Everyone knows that.
Secondly, I dont see it as a problem if people mix it up and head back there to change tactics/slow the fight. Hell if you think thats bad play a watcher. Where they run (in the past obviously so dont jump up and down) to where their guard is he attacks you then they use apprehend and have another guard and themselves jump you. All that and they still died plenty.
Pfft. Harden up. The lot of you.
Go farm some consumables and you'll be fine apparently.
Not everyone plays a class with Herb as a skill Aulian. It can be troublesome when your a shaman, or your fighting a class that has autodirt triggers setup to keep you there, or if your an invoker. Invokers can dish out lotsa damage, they just soak up damage like a plate glass window
Herb does what? 250 hp?
Is that even as much as one of those little scrolls you like carrying around?
Give me a freaking break. As for shamans, plague the guard. Then they cant stand there can they? Plague the altar its even easier. That was one of my #1 hates as a caballed character. Having to run into that bloody plague when I needed to get through the cabal.

Yep, and they would not stand at the altar, but simply enter their cabal and stand there
the only diff between scrolls is I dont have to kill a mal casting psionic mob with bash to herb ![]()

they use up a rare slot too..

Ditto. It was one of the most frustrating experiences. It is quite easy to just sit outside all day and wait for them to leave there cabal guard if they decide to ever leave. But where is the fun in that? You could also opt to just ignore the cabal enemy if you don't want to fight him near his home, but again where is the fun in that? Though I like the idea of aggressive cabal guards I am also for the idea of pushing cabal'd players away from their altar if they sit there for more than two ticks and they won't be able to return for at least two more ticks. This way they'll still have at least one tick at the altar to recover or get there bearings then go at it again.
And then what? The enemy has 2 ticks to kill your guard while you cant get in?
people shouldnt be hiding by their guards. But standing there protecting you from taking the standard is A-Ok.
Recently I literally had two people at this cabal guard, one would dirt me and the other would charge. Umm, there's NO way to recover/capture a standard this way. Regardless of how powerful you are, you can see the thing. I kind of adopted Lytholm's suggestion. Call out the weak one, even though that didn't work I just figure I have to play the waiting game. Some people prefer to sit at their cabal for their whole gaming experience. Others will come out eventually....
This happened, and I beat one, then the other while the one I just beat was dead/gone.
