Maybe make it so that the longer someone is in combat with nerve affect up, the greater the penalty?
As to ninja's as being viable as melee's. It is very difficult, even choosing a cabal that will help you amp up those melee abilities, unfortunately they are hard pressed to compete with a warrior/zerker. Maybe they should just stick to assassinating them?
You mean grant Control weather and call lightning as a Ninjitsu ability?
Why not change lotus scourge to give 3 types of poison?
How can the game be limited to only ONE type of poison that everyone get get really. These guys are the MASTER of poison.

NEW - A new poison that when ingested/stabbed with has an effect that applies thunderclap effect for a single hour. The poison runs its course and you get disorientated.

NEW - Sleeping poison, get poisoned and fall asleep - easily dodged but sometimes you think you're safe then bam 3 hours later the poison takes effect.
IMO these will make ninjas way more melee capable, but not so much as to be over powering. Shrug.

Nice, I would like to see this and double sheath tested, with those shurikens coming out hehe. Oh yeah shurikens can only be thrown in room- can't shoot like a ranger... which makes me think of something that could come with double sheath....

And why not lotus scourge path just improves the things it does currently AND poison smoke. It will help a alot. Also Mya...I don't know you , but really....Nerve of ninja -3str is funny. Also caltraps (one of the best ability) that don't hit flying ... turns it into useless ability against everyone (even warrior class using flight potion).

I don't know a good fighter that don't use flight-kind of thing, which really turns a one of few options for ninja useless. Only path for ninjas left here is the assassination way, the others are too complicated AND the enemies must be not flying....
I like the idea of lotus scourge path giving access to a plague like affect.
the problem is not only lotus scourge and death kiss, the problem is that ninjas have to be more potent fighters than the thieves and they are not.Ninjas are warriors of stealth, it says so even in the helpfile.Just like in the martial arts movies, some kind of a skiny ninja comes out from the shadows and beats some 120 kilogram unprepared man.They should to be just like that.Even bards are better than ninjas in combat, they have throw that does annihilates.What the ninja has to do in combat?One caltraps that doesn't work or nerve that lowers the strenght with -3.Even two titaniums give +2 strenght.Quite funny don't you think?

Nerve (first time) - str.... you are weakened initially
Nerve (second time) -hitgain {nice idea Mya}.... you no longer heal as fast
Nerve (third time) insomnia... now the pain keeps you from sleeping
Nerve (fourth time) -movegain... The pain is so distracting you might as well wait to die.

this is pretty sick, since i guess the ninja is going to be pulling the hit and run.
but 4 times? Dunno, Im going to see if I can even attempt something like that.

How can you land nerve 4 times in a fight? Unless it was moved to 1round lag like onslaught for blademasters. Even then I don't see it happening. That is 4 rounds of you getting beat on while you attempt to weaken them. I have seen ninjas die in less time.

Strangely you would see more human ninjas (high CON) with hitgain gear (+hp regen), doing grinding/atriction.
Add a high move cost area like the Volcano, and you have a pined person.
To bad they can just recall.
But then again, they still canot move.
Add dismount to push.
And you can push people off the other side of the volcano, when you are on top of it.
Cure light spam.... catching ticks for mana...
Decoy...
And you end killing him with Assasinate 1 hour latter...

No it doesn't. I had a lotus scourge Undead Ninja and whilst I didn't use it to it's potential, it's really, really good.
