KADDAR

General
KADDAR

History:
Deep within the natural beauty of the Escismir E'gal many wonders can be
found. Unique birds that sing in the day, beautiful flowers that exhibit
all the colors of the rainbow, and the blood stained grins of the vicious
little kaddar faeries.

Long have the kaddar made their home in the Escismir E'gal jungle, southeast
of Val Miran. The many creatures of the jungle have become their prey, as
the kaddar hunt and kill not only for survival, but also for sport. Any
that walk into their lands becomes a part of their deadly game.
Adventurers, poachers, expeditions, and even lost wanderers have stumbled
into the jungle and never returned.

For many years the most common interaction between the kaddar and the
outside world were attempted cullings of their numbers. Strong citizens of
Aabahran would band together to force their way into the lands of the kaddar
to attempt to thin out their numbers. The kaddar, while diminutive, were
hardy and they prospered through these assaults.

Though the intention of the cullings was to try to protect the people of the
lands, all that it accomplished was to feed the roiling hatred and contempt
of these faeries. Over time their methods became more brutal as they began
to revel in the torment that they would cause. Even their diet was affected
as they have become almost solely carnivorous.

In recent times many kaddar have left their homelands and struck out into
civilization. Some have been motivated by boredom of being stuck in one
place for so long, while others seek power and infamy, or even to create
chaos that can only be managed in more populated areas.

Appearance:
While tiny, the kaddar are slightly bulkier and more muscular than the
faeries. All kaddar have natural auras that surround them. These auras are
unique to each kaddar, however they all thrash violently. Kaddar skin tones
range from the palest white to colors darker than the night sky. Their hair
is most commonly known to be blood red in color, although blonde and
brunette hues have also been seen. The wings of the kaddar are shaped with
sharper edges, often coming to points. The coloration is usually
iridescent, however flat colors and tones have been seen. These wings are
ordinarily outlined in a pitch black.

Hometown:
Though most kaddar can be found in the Escismir E'gal, those who have
ventured further into Aabahran have only been accepted in Maelbrim and
Miruvhor. While they have been accepted in these cities, very few will ever
bring themselves to hire them.

Society:
Life in the Escismir E'gal was simply to kill or be killed for the
kaddar. Any semblance of leadership or civilization were rare and
temporary. The kaddar often value entertainment, they find merriment
and even glee in the pain that they and others cause. While leadership
is scarce, popularity has often been seen to hold power in kaddar society.

Religion:
Kaddar often find themselves called to the religions that align with
their interests. Followers of Death are quite common, while the Chance
religions of Discord and Guile are not far behind. Kaddar are rarely
atheistic or agnostic.

Relationships with Other Races:
Very few people trust the kaddar. Their reputation seems to precede them
and while their countenance may seem beautiful and even innocent, they do
not mask their inner darkness well. Strangely the fire giants have been
known to take a liking to the kaddar, finding each other great company.

Physical Adaptations:
The kaddar share the innate magical composition and aptitude as the
faeries, and they have vast pools of mana. Their magical auras give them an
immunity to the magical effects of faerie fire and faerie fog, however they
interfere with the casting of these spells as well. The unique frames of
the kaddar give them the natural ability to move silently and make them
harder to hit with attacks using the body, such as bashes and bodyslams.
Kaddar thieves are naturally proficient at stealing from their victims.
While less intelligent than their faerie cousins, they compensate with
strength and constitution and remain immune to charms. Having made their
homes in the warm jungle their bodies are weak against attacks from cold
sources. Kaddar's wings give them the natural ability of flight.

Kaddar can be the following classes:
Warrior, Thief, Cleric, Invoker, Battlemage, Necromancer, and Blademaster
