MOON MOONS
General
MOON MOONS THE MOONS OF AABAHRAN Aabahran is watched over by three moons: Lysenties the White, Nercuros the Grey, and Dyphrities the Black. To many they are simple signs in the night sky that mark the tides, seasons, omens, harvests and fears. To clerics, paladins, prophets, and druids they are far more. The moons are bound to Aabahran by forces far older than mortal's recorded history. Their movements shape the seas, and stir the earths while marking the long rhythms that many cultures measure rites of worship and warnings by. Often called the Lunar Triad their path is measure by Lysenties, nearest and swiftest completes her circuit once every decade. Nercuros follows at a slower pace, completing his in two. While Dyphrities, the furthest and slowest marks her dark passage every fourth year. Nearly every mortal culture has named these celestial objects and feared, worshiped or blamed their passage for something. Sailors and farmers would watch them for their tides and the weather for their crops. Priests will read them for blessings and signs, the halls of shamans and druids speak of them more carefully as they have long known that moons have a way of marking those hours when the world feels thinner. Lysenties is the White Moon, a bright and pale beacon in the night sky. Often associated with life, healing, protection and birth it is often viewed as a sacred endurance of the soul. Nercuros is the Grey Moon, heavy and solemn. Often associated with balance, memory, times, judgement and consequence. Dyphrities is the Black Moon, distant and dim. Often associated with death, secrets, endings, prophecy and undeath all manner of places where light is unwelcome. The full power and mystery of the moons is hidden from mortals but perhaps that is for the best. While many believe that divine power, magic, prophecy and fates are all touched in some way by their passing across the night sky. See also: LYSENTIES, NERCUROS, DYPHRITIES, LUNAR TRIAD
