General
DYPHRITIES THE BLACK

Dyphrities is the Black Moon of Aabahran, furthest and slowest of the three
moons. She is known as dark, cold and barely reflective giving back so little
light that many mortals mistake it for an absence in the heavens rather than
a moon or stone and shadows.

Unlike Lysenties and Nercuros, Dyphrities does little to brighten the night,
when seen clearly it is often described as a blackened disc moving among the
stars. When passing before another moon, its dark face may blot that moon's
light with a clean and omen filled shadow.

Dyphrities is associated with death, secrets, silence, omens and prophecy.
Many who see her speak of its curses, while those who follow her often call
her merely honest. For everything born beneath the moons must one day pass
beneath their shadows.

It is often say that Lysenties blesses, Nercuros weighs, but Dyphrities waits
at the last door. Her clerics, witches, liches, and necromancers often speak
of death as both blessings and certainty. As a candle light dims all flames
must answer to the same darkness.

When Dyphrities hang in the sky, nights are often said to grow colder and
shadows seem to lengthen beyond their proper shape. Old graves are watched
more carefully, and travelers often tell of restless bones wandering beneath
the open sky. Those who practice the darker arts claim that their work
answers more readily beneath the Black Moons gaze.

Rarest of all are the nights often spoken about as a True Night, when the
balance of the heavens leaves Dyphrities alone above the world.

Such nights are often watched for near the turning of the seasons, when day
and night stand so close to equal that even the old powers of the lands are
said to be listening. When this happens mortals lock their doors, guard the
graves of their loved ones and count their candles until dawn.

When Dyphrities alone watches the land below, do not answer the whispers in
the dark...
