Agreed. I -never- full loot, and everyone full loots me. I'll break one of these days, and start doing it too.
warmaster
Just thought I'd clarify a few things.
I mean when you think of a great warmaster/warlord/god of war even. You don't think of someone who takes the time to set up challenges with you. They are supposed to extremely cocky and live for war and bloodshed with no care for others' date=' savages even. [/quote']
Where did you ever get the idea that you can't go with this RP? It's definitely not discouraged by Athara. And cocky? Have you spoken to Grom or Brothem?
(And I don't mean that in a bad way.) Grom especially has exuded quite a bit of cockiness in his RP. If you're getting this from other Battle Members... well.... let's just say they're not the one with the 'clan allow' command. Athara has no problem with this kind of RP... at all.
But with recent leadership the rp angle has gotten worse for me. The thrill of killing people when they aren't prepared or looting people to become stronger' date=' and being hated by many is just not there.[/quote']
Athara has never penalized or looked down upon anyone that has caught an opponent off guard. Hell, she'd probably encourage trying to get the element of surprise. Same thing with looting. You beat your opponent, feel free to take their things, you earned it.
Seems deathmarking is frowned upon and when trying to get into the cabal seems randomly attacking people is frowned upon' date=' and deathmark lets your opponent know you are after them, not really smart in my opinion.[/quote']
Alright, I don't know who is doing the frowning, but Athara has never frowned upon anyone that has used Deathmark. Nor has she frowned upon anyone in Battle that goes around randomly attacking people. In fact, I'd like to see a Battle hopeful that has the beef to take on everyone on their who pk list. The only limitations she has set in this matter are the challenging of Herald Bards and Healers. I mean c'mon... Herald Bards... and Healers. It is called a "challenge", afterall.
But the principle of honor is heavily used when trying to join the cabal in the first place.
Sure it is. And by honor, Athara is referring to... ganging, out of pk range assisting, interfering in cabal warfare, interfering in someone else's fight, refusing/running away challenges from "scarier" opponents, and to some extent...picking on characters of lower rank at Pinnacle. From there, everyone has their own idea of honor, whether it is deciding not to fight someone who is naked/out of supplies or giving an unprepared foe an honorable death. It's all gravy to Athara. She does not expect everyone to have the same RP.
At this point if i go fire warrior and start waging war against everyone (my idea of a true warmaster) I doubt Athara will let me join her brand of warmasters.
You must be in an alternate Aabahran. I have to say that you're wrong in that assumption.
Bottom line, Athara does not nor will she ever discriminate against varied types of RP. Stick with your RP, kick some ***, and maintain some class... and I assure you, you'll get noticed.
Thelsyome, you seriously just made my day like... 4 or 5 times over in one post. I'm STILL laughing.
Nice job at counterattacking my arguments Thelsyome, some I could agree with you on if I never knew the actual situations, but my experience in these situations have been totally different from the way you make them seem, I've been around warmaster for so long since before azun to when warmaster was at war with everyone under rompkei, to when warmaster died, and I still kept with it even when no one else wanted to be a warmaster I think I lived through three(might be forgetting one) different immortal leaders. Now savant is having trouble and everyone wants to be a warmaster now. Don't blame Athara for picking those whom are the strongest first, not sure what the reasons were. But from my experience it was those who showed dedication rather then power, overall. Those were the ones who stuck around in warmaster when times got tough. Just a side note. Just sucks seeing the ones whom aren't so great but who stuck around not be made warmasters yet. Jhorik was the exception though so I guess that was seen by Athara. Rompkei was an example, made war with everyone died once to ivyziou and never returned, left warmaster in shambles. And isn't grom gone now for some reason? Not sure what happened so i'll leave him out. Senrail kept at it even though he was totally outnumbered and not quite as strong at first, and turned out to be a great warmaster. This is all something I just hope the new leader takes in consideration when thinking about new candidates.
You started the thread saying that you didn't like the "Honor RP" direction the cabal was taking, but judging from your more recent post, you're bigger concern is Athara taking in stronger characters over the less stronger (yet longer affiliated) ones. Either way, my advice is to take it to her in game and find out for yourself. Very few take the initiative to RP with Athara on a personal level (meaning other than "Hail Queen" on the clan channel). Make an attempt to interact with her on a personal level, as the current Warmasters have. I promise I won't shut anyone out. Also, I have and will take into consideration all the things you have mentioned on top of everything else. ![]()
Thank you Thelsyome, it really makes me happy to hear you say that. And I aplogize if i was a little pushy or offensive at times.
Uhh Ohh, you're gonna get bombarded now, you opened the door for everyone;). It's not hard to be a lot more aggressive than senrail is without being dishonorable. Perhapse his rp is just not the kind that storms in slaughtering, but it looks like he's gotten the warmaster camp pretty strong so far. There haven't been any evil warmasters for so long, which is probably the reason there hasn't been an aggressive warmaster that goes around tearing through everyone he sees. It's one of the hardest characters to play I think, being honorable but killing everyone you see. You have to be twice as alert, because if that person is half dead, or fighting someone else, it's hard not to finish them off. And it's just as hard not to take their nice things when you accidently do. Hey, if a vampire can make a tribunal, then an evil can be evil, with honor.
Warmaster isn't Congress. Seniority? Pffffft. ;-)
Hrm...
Honor is a concept that allows variation. To some people honor would be the same as never attacking a foe in the back, to others it would mean never attacking women and to others still it could simply mean unyielding loyaly to a cause or person. The list could go on for a long while.
An evil could adhere to his own code of honor, which while not 100% the same as the regular warmaster honor would still be within the frame of a interesting and probably succesfull roleplaying experience.
Taking this to the extreme you could say it is a sign of weakness to allow two enemies near you when you know you will not be able to defeat both, or being suprised with your pants down and not ready for a battle, or any other situation where the virtue of honor in most cases would not allow you to interfere or attack.
Sometimes it is better to go out of the box, just be careful not to break it.
To add to Melinda's comments, an evil's code of honor, whatever that might look like, certainly wouldn't benefit anyone but the evil in the long run, if the RP is correct.
