Life insurance idea

If you use life insurance, you do not get the chance to loot anyone/anything while you have that affect up.

I agree on that, there are other alternatives to deal with that problem though.

Like, making insurance more expensive if you are stronger than your enemy, and making it less expensive if you are weaker, and facing multiple opponents.

Someone can have insurance constantly anymore, it is just not hard. But they kill someone, then full sac them, THEN they die, and cannot even have a backpack taken. It is not a balanced system. Insurance needs to die.

Seems kinda wierd to me. The only way to get your opponents eq is to go without life insurance, but oh wait, they have it! and then you die, and get looted, because you didn't have it!

This seems like just another way around getting looted. People loot, eq crumbles, it's always how it's gonna be...

You wanna loot your opponent, you go in without insurance an kill them, they have insurance. So if you DO die, they got insured and cannot loot you. As it stands now any evil cabal can have basically free life insurance. Run around pking to get CP, then insure when you fight a person twice a week who will loot you.

You could make life insurance more expensive, that would help the problem, I think without changing the base.

Really in a game this small insurance is a bad idea. It was introduced when you had multiple cabal enemies online, and would be facing insurmountable odds. Now you get 4-5 days without enemies logging on where you can get up CP, then you just run off insure any time you have a chance of losing gear. it does nothing to improve the game anymore. It only teaches you to log off if you dont have 500 extra cp. When they started outfits, they should have stopped insurance

How about limiting how much an LI'd person can take to a certain number of rares, say five? With the new change you'd automatically lose two anyways, so that'd be up to 7 rares at risk while fighting the LI'd.

I honestly think LI should be abolished. I will full on refuse to fight someone I know constantly has LI. If you are gonna come at me, you better come correct.

Not playing now, just trolling but I have agreed for a long time that LI just doesn't seem to fit into the FL scheme of things. If you are in a cabal you are at least decent if not good. If LI were to stay, perhaps put a huge cool down timer on it so someone cannot constantly have it up. Something like 1500hrs would be reasonable.

Even that is only going to breed people logging off. EQ needs to be dramatically changed. I still say remove rare limits all together. That will completely stop the need for all this insurance. Or make the gap between a mithril suit, and an adeptus suit much smaller.
