FIRBOLG

General
History:
Long have there been things that dwelt in the lands of Aabahran,
unseen and hidden from the eyes of the masses. No matter how many explorers
blaze uncharted paths, or society spreads, there are things that may be
lurking even in plain sight. For the forests, these are the firbolgs.

Firbolgs have lived solitary and secluded lives among the trees and forests.

Their purpose was to tend to their own, and often to clean the messes and
repair the damage to the woods caused by man and beast alike. After the
intruders would depart the firbolgs would do their part tend to nature and
nurture their homes back to strength.

Tales would be told by those who would invade the forests of sightings of
large creatures walking among the trees or following in their footsteps, but
these were considered myths and tall tales. Reports unable to define clear
features in the foliage dismissed by most.

But everything has a breaking point. Over the millennia the peace and
serenity of the forests has been taken advantage of by countless. The
uncaring destruction and abuse has driven even these kind-hearted beings to
their limits.

The first time the firbolgs made their presence known to the lands was their
strike against the fire giant loggers of Elium Forest. Observing the wicked
way that the loggers would chop trees, the foul slaying of the creatures, and
the monstrous treatment of even their own laborers, the firbolgs took up arms
against them.

They did not ally themselves with the druid Torilar, or even align themselves
with the factions of the land that protect the forests, but struck out to
protect with light in their hearts.

After the firbolgs made themselves known to the lands, they too began to
explore beyond their homes. They have quickly made themselves a far more
common sight, no longer just a legend told by those who thought they had seen
one, but familiar beings all throughout the world.

Appearance:
Firbolgs are a large and yet colorful species. Of a similar
stature to the minotaurs, they still were able to remain shrouded in the
forests.

Their features are very angular, sharp jawlines and broad shoulders are
displayed. Their skin tones and hair colors are almost faelike. Skin tones
that range from pale grays and blues to far more vibrant colors. Their hair
and eyes are always bright and can reflect any color of the rainbow.

Hometown:
As they are not native to any city, the firbolgs that have struck
out into the lands call home only by name. They base themselves in Val Miran
and Maelbrim, but rarely consider it their true homes.

Society:
The firbolgs did not have much organization or leadership. While
families would often stick together, they would mingle with others of their
kind and branch out, able to fit in most any place.

Religion:
The firbolgs are often a deeply religious race. They most commonly
follow the religious practices of Nature and Life. Their time in the trees
giving them a connection to Nature, their embrace of harmony leading to
Tranquility, their empathy to Compassion, and their vengeance against the
wicked to Purity.

Relationships with Other Races:
Firbolgs are able to find kindred spirits in
most. They are quick to friendship and form bonds. Those that are open to
benevolence will be quickly accepted as a neighbor to the firbolgs, while the
vile will find themselves on the wrong side of a firbolg.

Physical Adaptations:
The firbolgs have lived in, and have a unique
connection to the forests.

Their bodies and minds regenerate quickly while in the woods, as their
surroundings will tend to the firbolgs as the firbolgs tend to them. Due to a
history of living beneath the canopy of the forests their bright eyes have
adapted the ability to see unassisted in the dark.

Firbolg can be the following classes: Warrior, Cleric, Healer, Paladin,
Ranger, Druid, Monk, Battlemage, and Bard
