I'm all for removing life insurance completely, but if we for any reason can't do that, how about making it only work vs members of other cabals, or maybe even only vs members of enemy cabals?

I still believe we should just do away with it completely, and if we -have- to have something as a replacement, then basic suits of average cabal EQ would work well for having people stick around when the odds are against them - which is exactly what life insurance should be for, not for people to just remain decked for long periods of time.

You can only use life-insurance when your standard has been drained by an enemy cabal. Because it's when you have to go retreive your standard you very likely have an uphill fight before you against multiple opponents or one badass opponent.
You can't hide within your cabal, waiting for an enemy to drain your standard then either. Because the moment he got your standard, he can enter your halls, and kick your ***

Just remove life insurance completely and introduce a cabal version of 'outfit' for when you die. Or the playerbase can mature a little and stop full saccing everyone they kill.

that is the exact situation i was in for the sole time i ever used LI on a char (merle), and sure enough the arse-nate popped right at the end of a very lengthy duel.
i was happy, but even still felt exceptionally dirty and guilty. it's just really lame.
people like LI to protect against the lame arse-nators, and people like arse-nators because they keep the eq circulating. remove both. boo-ya, problem solved. somebody get me a drink.

That is adressing the problem directly now.
So first people say we got the assissnate skill to keep the rares circulating. Then we get the LI insurance for the people who know they will be assassinated. Why not remove the two most discussed/hated things altogether?
I don't think we should completely remove assassinations, but it should take longer to get a full study.
I reckon, remove life insurance, and lower the costs greatly of cabal items. At least then it won't be so hard to get back into a suit and defend. ect.
