Ok I've recently been looking through some old logs, and noticing how many people had custom titles, and also thinking about how many people rp with my character purely on the basis of his custom title.
Now one thing i've noticed is that FL is BEST when people are activley RPing. Now while a lot of people will RP when someone else is doing it, there is a also a lot of time when people are just not OOC, as opposed to actually RPing.
Even the least active RPers, who are mainly about PK become active RPers, driving forward our storyline, when there is something in it for them however. Look at qrace/class applicants, loads of RP. Sometimes it seems to tail off after the get what they wanted, but thats a different thread. In general people like having cool things, and are more willing to put the effort in to get them, and when a few people are actively going out pushing for RP, it makes everybody else get involved. More stuff to apply for = More RP = More fun.
Its entirely possible that people can get custom titles via application anyway, i'm just thinking it would be nice to have it as something recommended to do. I'm not saying give the titles out to everybody, but if someone puts in an application, then RPs their socks off concerning their title for 3 - 4 straight weeks, they have enriched the game soooo much, and should definitely get it!
