eh. I work my arse off at work. It's a pretty physical job so I can afford to sloth it out when I can.

If I find a Newbie who is totally lost, I will go ooc to help them. I do it in tells, and instruct them to do the same. If an immortal has a problem with this, then ban me. But I'd rather help someone new out and have them stay by breaking a rule with the person for an hour or so, in a way that does not interrupt the continuity of others' play than have some newbie running around for three days going, "lol, it look like it says dark ****ter woods, lolz." and "group?"/"hunt?" before they get corrected. If I can correct that stuff before having to bother an IMM that everyone cries needs to be more active with the playerbase, then I've saved the IMMs time, I've saved them a dozen posts about how they don't plan plots, implement new content, or anything else everyone emo-whines about. (luckly most of those people have been removed.)
But, I agree. heralds should be allowed to approve descs. I'd rather get an approved desc in 10 minutes with no hp bonus or chance of dragon than have to wait a few hours only to then send a note and get the bonus and hp when I sign in the next day. I'm not slagging the staff, they've got real lives and things more important to do than a text based game (work may not be as desirable for everyone to do, but living in a house with internet access costs money). But so do I, and I don't want to spend it spamming spells for no exp at 15 when I've only got three hours to play for the next three days.

Okay, that was one of the truest, and funniest things I've ever read here. KRins, you continuelly prove your wisdom to me. I hope someday you're a father, because I imagine you somewhere between Red Forman and my Father. Both of which are excellent parents.

Before slapping a label on someones activities as this or that, you should know what exactly they do. I chug water ALL DAY LONG. as stated. Very physical job. I can afford to sloth it out. I like something with flavor after chugging enough water to wash the salt out of a person because it's either that or die of dehydration. ![]()
Onward! I like the idea, and agree. Having a Herald with the ability to approve a desc would be VERY nice. And as stated several times, it would be VERY easy to fire a note to the Immortals requesting that they too take a look at your desc for a possible perk while you're still able to run around gaining your ranks with a herald approved desc.
I doubt it will take more then a day... mine never take that long. Even when I write a note to the imms.
Im going on three days allready wrote the note three days ago. But it isnt bothering me to much more time to train allready have most of my skills mastered.
I've personally waited 2 days on 2 recent desc checks and I said screw in game note. I went straight to the prayer forum with it
This was the problem.
The prayers forums suffers from heavy traffic. The imms probably have to go fish for posts. So i can imagine how many things get overlooked.
A OOC note with a descriptive Title - "DESCRIPTION Approval request for XYZ, desc in note." With your description on the note probably can make wonders.

Don't you need to be Rank 16 to improve skills/spells above 80% ?

Nope, just rank 15.

I do my best. I'll be taking disciple applications on Monday. ![]()
To actually contribute a little: Just because you might not get a special treat from an IMM is no good reason to not consider this concept. Does anyone actually write a description with the express intent to get a draggy? I know I write because I enjoy the process. I enjoy trying to slip something distinctive into my description and see if someone notices it. I also find that a well written sentence in a description can be a launching point for your RP. I know I personally had a character that had an imp in a belt pouch that he would talk to almost exclusively. It was fun for me, as I had RP for those waiting for mobs to repop periods in groups or if I'm just tooling around the CC (yeah its dumb, but I do it anyway) chatting to my imp, sometimes someone passing by would stop and a really enjoyable RP session would jump off from a little self RP.

In my short time as an IMM, you'd be surprised how many people deleted after not getting a dragon, only to shortly see there after someone connecting to create a character with the same name... it's damn mind blowing why people go all hog wild over a dragon when, in fact, there are much better things that are simply easier to get. Animated blue orb is in at a 50/50 rate for me.
And, while it may be "strategically dumb" to walk around CC... people do it... read descriptions. Not sure if they still do, but some used tos ay about a mass of people gathering. Others say how it's a heavy traffic flow. It's a city, for ****s sake, and people do spend time there. I'd rather take a death because I was RPing in CC than hide in some room with a door, hidden and invis, not rping with anyone.
Very few people read descriptions of other's around them. I remember reading about how someone used to kick the cane out from under anotehr player (Shaw, I believe), and the only reason they knew about it was his description. Descriptions aren't only for the IMMs, they aren't there to piss you off and waste your time, they aren't there to make players sit at 15 for hours writing a ten line desc... they're there for the players to interact with one another better. "Oh, you're blue eyes are odd... wait... was that a spark of electricity?" "ZZzzz zZZt, Yes... I am actually an electric elemental caught in the body of a human.... don't tell anyone or they won't let me into the bathhouse anymore..." etc.

Hmmmm day 6 now 2 notes, 10 mastered skills, and still waiting, wondering if my char did something wrong hehe.![]()
It is not an undead ninja wannabe
Nah, not this one. although perhaps maybe I should make your wishes come true this isnt the first time youve mentioned undead ninja to me hehe.![]()
Undead ninjas are boss. So are undead blms. Undead blm was so disgustingly powerful.
And how can I not mention undead ninja to Teralis. Teralis was the ninja hero, undead ![]()
Yeah undeads are my fav, So far there has been
Malosos undead thief
Weimeri undead ninja
Astrid undead battlemage
Teralis undead ninja
Eupharil undead thief
and of course Mariana my Vamp
I am in the process of making another undead, just cannot leave what you love.![]()
heh, I have played one undead, only tried for 2 ever, and the first I messed up the quest because I was not really RPing a bloodthirsty killer, I was rping a fanatically devoted priest (cleric)
Never had a demon might have to try that one eventually. Hmmm never even tried for one yet after 8 years playing odd huh.
To Teralis:
You sent a note in game? I've pulled up everyone who I saw a noted and they were all approved already. Are you sure you sent the note?
You post the character name to the prayer forum if you wish and I will look for it specifically tonight.
2 days for a desc check is about 10 times more outrageous than some of the Q-stuff app wait times. It takes maybe...3 minutes tops to check a desc. Technically it is the IMMs responsibility to be some version of timely. The more issues that remain unaddressed...the more people leave. Soon enough...it won't be the Forsaken Lands anymore...just straight up forsaken. If you can't cover the bases...get more players. If you can't field more players...get players who are willing to put forth more effort.
And things like this make ME want to take a break / leave at times.
I'll ignore the urge and log on to do all the daily complaints / desc check stuff anyway. If it sometimes takes TWO days, that might be because we do not ALWAYS have the time to log on every day, hm? ![]()
There is a million things to do if you are stuck at 15. Go stock up on vials, pets, consumables is a major part. Another would be train, then there is that one thing, I think they call it RP. Honestly I rarely have trouble with a desc check anymore, for a bit I would log on at odd times through the week, and be angry about it, but I never waited more than 2 days even then. And I never send notes
I make imms talk to me when I get desc checked, even if they do cause me to writhe on the ground in agony.
