I always wondered why we don't have more area descriptions for when it is dark and when it is day. Actually, we do have one. It's Falen Dara. Is it really just because it's too much work? I think it makes the area much more interesting and was a pleasent surprise when I experienced it. The same can be said for seasons of the year. Most of the time you have no idea it's winter and for the most part, it doesn't matter in most cases.
If we want more RP, I believe we need more small things like this that let our characters feel more immersed in the world rather than people in a big chat room.
