Cabal titles

I've always like the idea of when you join a cabal and after a certain amount of promotions you get a certain title. Ex. 'Sir/Lady' for when you join Knight or Lord/Dame for Tribunal. I'd like to suggest that same idea for the others, especially Nexus. Though the only idea I have now is Dark Morchial or Dark Askarran and no last names. Sounds good dont' ya think? Can't think of anything for any other cabals but it'll come to me.

I agree, I think elders / leaders could use a signifier in front of their names, nothing hugely special, just a single word, but it'd be useful to indicate to the more newbie folk whos who in a cabal if they don't quite understand the I M V E L stuff (as well as a feeling of coolness for the people who get it)

I don't think NEXUS should be "Dark" anything.

And I don't really like this idea. Only Royality/Nobility should get this.

Knights are Nobles.

Tribunals are Royals.

Keep it at that.

Though Warmaster leaders could be "Warlord" or "Battlelord."

Knights are nobility? Since when?

Knights are just some archaic military faction that represents the government as it was BEFORE the Tribunal.

Tribunal represents the modern "rebellious" government.

Personally, I think that since Tribunal has declared itself the protector of law, etc, that this would be treason to Knights. Knights and Tribunal should be in constant war over the sovereignty of the world .

Royalty/noble (help royalty) are the executive members of their city-states. The Tribunal is like a world-wide league of legislative council members that should act under the direction of the royalty/noble and generally work to promote cooperation/order.

Knights are nobility in the sense that they were the 'old-world' royalty/nobles/elites. The official royalty/nobles represent the new world (current era).

I always thought of the Knights as a group of people that try to exercise the evil from the world and set up their own World Order. I don't really think that they are nobility in their own right, well maybe self appointed nobility. And from what I know, which isn't much, Trib is sortof like the combo of Justice and Royalty? Or am I wrong?

Neat idea for each Cabal to get a nifty thing before their name. Elders should, I think. Heralds could get "Sage" and Warmaster "Warlord" or something. Just a little added flavor for earning that rank.

Well, you can look at Knight from two main ways I think. First, they were King Cormac's enforcers, knights, feudal lords. In the War of Legions, they beat back Chaos. However, once Cormac died, his regime toppled and was eventually replaced by Justice and later Royal. Without government, Knights became an independent faction bent on returning the throne to it's former glory, under a new king. Their nobility is just a relic of the past that continues through tradition but has no political power.

The other way is to look it like this: Knight was formed as a combination of elite forces of the city-states to fight back the invading Nexus forces. Knight won the campaign, but saw that Miruvhor was turned evil, and Rheydin greedy. So Knight decided to seperate itself politically from the Royals (later Tribunal + noble/royal). Once more, they are a faction that represents an older government than is around today, and they still maintain their archaic titles of nobility. They are looking to unite the land under one king and end the politcal scabbling of the city-states/invading forces (Nexus/evil). They want a more unitary system of government, as opposed to the confederation the three city-states are in under Tribunal/Royal/Noble.

Edit: Tribunal and Royalty/Noble are seperate in our current system. While Tribunal does enact and enforce laws, they do so under the authority of, and representing the Royals/Nobles.

Yep I guess im still in 1.0 mode when it comes to Knights.

titles! I reckon that would be good. I notice Tribby has them aka Lord Austa

Maybe even just the regular title for that subcabal at that rank,

Like Tree Lord Ghadryn Ceyden

Or Reaver Askarran (I think he's trusted, am I wrong?)

that would be Fiend Askarran

Personally' date=' I think that since Tribunal has declared itself the protector of law, etc, that this would be treason to Knights. Knights and Tribunal should be in constant war over the sovereignty of the world .[/quote']

I agree with that, and I found it strange in my time as a Knight how we ended up being allied with the Tribunal. Though I suppose another way to look at it though, would be that if there was a bigger threat, such as Nexus and Watcher all as Outlaws with some big scheme for destruction, the Knights and Tribbys could temporarily form an alliance until the threat is neutralized and then settle their dispute over sovereignity.

I could definately see a title system being used in Knight & Tribby (which they already have) but in WM too, as well as Cabal leaders for all Cabals.

Dey

lol so suunmar gets a title and.. Yeah, just suunmar hehe

Yes...Suunmar and Messa may be the only CURRENT leaders but are you saying there never will be any other Cabal Leaders? Other Cabals will eventually get a mort Leader and I think it would be quite cool for each Cabal L to have a title.

Dey

I SUPPOSE you make a point.

I'm a huge fan of those ridiculously extravagant (stupid?) titles, like "The Grand High Apocalyptic Arch-Sorcerer".

who

[Human][SAVANT] Grand High Apocalyptic Arch-Sorcerer Deykari the Consumer of the Flesh-Ridden Soulbearer's Justicier's Uncle

Dey

Ahhh, yeah, we see those titles every now and then, Dey... heh.... or we used to.

I'm pretty sure Messalantha is stil Leader of Syndicate.

100% knew that. I was just testing you. And no, I didn't edit my post to reflect my remembering that messa was an L in Syndi (which wasn't actually remembering, as I obviously already knew that she was).
