I dont' know why I just thought of this now, but why is it King of Devils? To me, at least, that makes very little logical sense. It should be a reflection of their art.
Examples:
Joe the Master of War - warrior
Bob the Knight of Fury - berserker
Dan the Vengence of the Forest - ranger
Mini Me the Angel of Arcana - Invoker
John the King of Devils - Necromancer.
Now devils are more chaos/demon type, no? Maybe it's just me and the games I used to play(Heroes of Might and Magic 1-4).
Other options: Archmage of Death, Occultist of Death, American Marine Recruiter, etc.
Any other ideas?
I personaly like the Marine Recruiter one.
would "King/Queen of Zombies and Other Such Nastiness" be okay, or should i just propose "King/Queen of Oh-****-Where'd-My-Zombies-Go?" right off?
how about
Necromancer the bitch to any healer.
?
or
Necromancer whose wasted time on zombies a life cleric will destroy.
or
Necromancer - 12 hours of zombie-making = 1 tick of turn undead.
You don't like king of devils? Its not that he IS a devil...its that he commands devils...therefore he's the king...I don't know, meh.
Necromancer the Arch Puppetmage
Necromancer the Master of Golems
Necromancer the King/Queen of the Artificial
He doesn't command devils though, he commands golems and undead zombies. There is a big difference. There isn't any devilish thing about a necromancer save soul capture and I guess now, soul tap.
Depends on your definition of devil.
I could see if zombies and golems starting roving our streets som word refer to them as devils.
Yes, but this is a DnD setting, not a christian/catholic type real life setting.
And, to point this out, with all due respect, FL theme has no devil. We have a God of Death and a God of Chaos(Demons). It just doesn't fit for me.
we don't have a devil, which changes the definition of "devils" drastically.
I would think "devils" would be more likely to be a general referrence to evil without the idea of satan.
If we change this because of context to FL, what about Ninjas!

I have no idea what that meant.
Think what Tindal means is that there is a lot of classes with stock titles. They are not defined specifically for FL. Ninjas in particular?!? Care to clarify?
perhaps 'assassin' would be better for ninja, although that in itself is a stock class title. but it fits them a tad better than ninja.
Some of this ninja titles are a bit iffy I think. It is like someone took a karate course and used every bad japanese word they could find (or a word for a part of the body) and made it into a ninja title. It also mixes things like classical ranking (menkyo) and modern tournament ranking (belts--and they did the belts wrong) so that doesn't make sense at all.
Lot of titles for things like "punch" "inverse punch" "backfist" "practice dummy??" "bird?"
necro 50: XX the true necrophiliac.
XX the Seraph of Death.
Sounds like we all need to come up with a new Necro title for 50, and about 25 titles for ninjas if we are going to do this in the sake of keeping it real to the fl theme. Ive had a problem with ninja titles ever since I rolled my first one. I thought King of Devils was alright but there is so much more possibility for a necros lvl 50 title.
Oh yeah..let's not even get into blademaster titles.
[ Human ] Ninja the Master of Crushed Windpipes
[ Illith ] Necromancer the King of Ambien
[ Illith ] Necromancer the Zookeeper
Nah, but seriously, that title goes way back. I remember (many moons ago) on AR seeing Quazark the King of Devils (before he got his title restring) and being like "holy hell, I bet he is a badass." Made me want to make a necro. Which I did. And which I consequently condeathed.
